“Jesus died because He was poor” is a serious theological claim that demands serious biblical interpretation.
Pastor Korade K. may have presented poverty as the reason for the Cross, but Dr. Abel Damina rightly challenged the idea by going back to the Scriptures.
Jesus went to the Cross because of God’s redemptive purpose to deal with sin and reconcile humanity to God not because poverty forced Him there.
The question is simple: What does the Bible actually say was the reason Jesus died?
