🚨 MAINO SAYS 50 CENT’S PEN GAME HAS DECLINED… JIM JONES, FABOLOUS & JOE BUDDEN GO SILENT! 👀 During a recent episode of the Let’s Rap About It podcast, Maino sparked an interesting debate when he brought up 50 Cent while discussing rappers who were once nice but have lost their lyrical ability over the years. Maino specifically named 50 Cent as an example, saying he believes 50’s pen game has declined when it comes to the actual skill of rapping. 🗣️ Maino: “50 Cent.” The comment immediately caught everybody’s attention, with Jim Jones, Fabolous and guest Joe Budden seemingly going quiet before pushing back on Maino’s take. Joe Budden disagreed, arguing that he never viewed 50 Cent as someone whose greatest gift was necessarily his lyrical ability. He also didn’t believe 50 had fallen off as a rapper. Maino clarified that he wasn’t talking about record sales, hitmaking, songwriting or 50’s success in television. He was specifically talking about the skill of rapping. ➡️ Maino also argued that genuinely lyrical rappers should continue improving as they get older because their vocabulary, experiences and overall perspective develop. ➡️ He even brought up Jim Jones as an example of someone who has improved over the years. ➡️ Maino also spoke about feeling underrated throughout his career, saying he’s always believed he was better than the credit people gave him.

For years, 50 Cent told it like this: his friend robbed Ja Rule for his chain, and that started one of rap's biggest beefs. Ja Rule says 50 had nothing to do with it. The man with the gun was angry about a girl. "He pulls out the burner on me." 1999, Southside Jamaica, Queens. Ja says a guy he knew, just home from prison, rolled up on his block, put a gun on him and accused him of sleeping with his girl while he was locked up. Ja handed over the chain. "The guy with the gun won." Within 20 minutes, he says, a big homie from the neighborhood got the chain back. No watch was ever traded for it, he says. In 50's version, Ja got angry after seeing him at a club with the robber. In October 1999, 50 released "Life's on the Line," aimed at Ja and Murder Inc. In March 2000, 50 was stabbed at the Hit Factory studio in New York. Murder Inc. rapper Black Child later said he did it. Ja's name for 50 as a storyteller: "MC Gusto." In the video below, Ja Rule tells his version himself, start to finish. Two men, one chain, two stories. Whose version do you believe?

GOODBYE TO THE GREATEST Today, our nation mourns the loss of an icon whose legacy will forever live in the hearts of all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. Sparrow was a true patriot and revered ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago’s culture. Through his music, his wit and his unmatched contribution to culture, he carried the spirit and stories of our people across the world. For decades, Sparrow has been part of the soundtrack of Trinidad and Tobago. His music made us laugh, made us think and made us proud of who we are. On behalf of the Government and people of Trinidad and Tobago, I extend my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace, Mighty Sparrow. Your voice will live on forever. 🇹🇹🕊️
