LAURA GILLANDERS, RICHMOND DESERVES THE FULL TRUTH ABOUT BRIGHOUSE PARK! RITE Richmond's Laura Gillanders filmed the upgraded baseball field but conveniently left out the encampments, drug use, needles, and safety concerns just behind her. You can't show one side of the park and pretend the problems don't exist! City Hall spent nearly $600,000 on an infield upgrade and called it revitalization, while families continue to raise concerns about their safety. Laura Gillanders and her NDP-aligned RITE Richmond team need to be held accountable for their record. I have a solution, not more excuses. My proposed Richmond Detox and Recovery Master Plan will focus on expanding access to detox, treatment, and recovery housing to help people overcome addiction, rebuild their lives, and reconnect with their families. Richmond spent nearly $600,000 upgrading JUST the baseball infield at Brighouse Park. I believe that money could have been better invested in heavily used baseball facilities like Palmer Field and other parks that actually need upgrades. Our tax dollars should go where they deliver the greatest benefit for Richmond families, athletes and community organizations.
