That, given the recent appointment of Canada’s Ocean Envoy and Chair of the 12th Our Ocean Conference, and the Government of Canada’s recently announced $1.2 billion investment in ocean protection, the committee invite Canada’s Ocean Envoy to appear for no fewer than two hours, at the earliest opportunity, but no later than Friday, November 27, 2026, to discuss the Envoy’s mandate, priorities, and plans to advance Canada’s ocean conservation and fisheries interests, including preparations for the 2027 Our Ocean Conference, the government’s financial commitments, and the anticipated costs associated with hosting the conference; and that the Ocean Envoy be requested to provide the committee with a copy of the formal mandate, any associated terms of reference, and a breakdown of the anticipated costs of hosting the conference prior to the appearance.

For them capitalism was alien and harsh: for me it was familiar and creative. I was able to see that it was satisfying customers that allowed my father to increase the number of people he employed. I knew that it was international trade which brought tea, coffee, sugar and spices to those who frequented our shop. And, more than that, I experienced that business, as can be seen in any marketplace anywhere, was a lively, human, social and sociable reality: in fact, though serious it was also fun. There is no better course for understanding free-market economics than life in a corner shop.

🚨 Mark Carney just dropped his ‘500,000 new homes a year’ promise, and construction is falling further behind in Yukon.
Whitehorse is in a housing crisis, needing 3,000+ homes while rental vacancy sits at 1.5%.
Meanwhile, Canada just sent $7.8 MILLION taxpayer dollars to fund housing in the Dominican Republic.
Local leaders are warning that skyrocketing costs are forcing families out of the North.

Trudeau’s Special Rapporteur and personal friend who says there is no foreign interference in Canada receives an honorary doctorate from Nanjing University for his work on establishing Confucius Institutes abroad in 2012.
They were later identified as national security risks.
