Marathon Fusion says it achieved this using nuclear fusion.
For now, the amounts are tiny. But gold's price depends on it being rare, so anything that makes gold easier to produce is worth watching.
We should do this and your “social security” money goes to it. It gets invested in index funds, you can take a loan against it to buy a house, when you pay back the loan, you pay interest to yourself. When you die your kids get it.
