You can warn them. You can help them. But you can’t make the choice for them.
A parent spends years trying to protect their child from bad decisions.
They warn them about money.
Remind them to study.
Tell them which friends to avoid.
Try to stop every mistake before it happens.
Then the child grows up and keeps making choices the parent doesn't understand.
So the warnings get louder.
The arguments get longer.
And somehow, the child becomes less willing to listen.
Sometimes the hardest part of loving someone is accepting that you can explain the consequences perfectly and they may still choose differently.
You can offer advice.
You can help them recover.
You can be there when things go wrong.
But you cannot live their life on their behalf.
At some point, love has to leave room for responsibility.
