Folks, Brazil is the perfect example of what I’ve said about this platform and Community Notes since Elon launched it. Tonight and all day tomorrow, your feed will fill with thousands of posts claiming the Brazil election was stolen because Lula’s buddy on the Supreme Court extended voting by 2 hours. That claim, we already know, is absolute bullshit. Both campaigns asked for the extension, Flávio Bolsonaro’s included, after bus shortages and bad weather hit voters in several cities. nitter.gq/tommysantos14/status/2… Almost every one of those posts will run note-free. The few that get a Community Note will get it after the damage is done. MAGA propaganda spreads like wildfire here for one reason: Elon Musk designed it that way. Community Notes has always been a red herring. Give it a few hours. Musk will repost one of his favorite stooges with a one-word “Concerning,” and that lie will land in front of his 241 million followers. And Community Notes will never catch up. So when I call Elon Musk Trump’s Joseph Goebbels, I mean every word.
Both Brazil candidates requested voting extensions. MAGA, once again, is lying about a "rigged" election. cartacapital.com.br/politica… "The campaigns of Lula (PT) and Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) requested this Sunday, October 25th, that the Superior Electoral Court extend the voting hours for the second round until 7 PM in localities affected by problems that hindered voters' access to the polls. The requests have different justifications." "While the PT campaign points to failures in public transportation, the Bolsonaro campaign mainly cites rain, flooding, road closures, and changes to polling locations." "Flávio's campaign is requesting two additional hours of voting in 17 municipalities in São Paulo, Paraná, and Santa Catarina. The team is also requesting that the announcement of the presidential results only begin after the polls have closed in the areas covered by the extension."

This is not Gaza. This is Hebron today. The Israeli occupation has begun destroying Palestine’s economic capital, a city that accounts for 75% of the country’s production in the stone and marble, leather and footwear, plastics, glass, oils, dairy, and gold industries. Ethnic cleansing is being inflicted on the Palestinian people everywhere across the land of Palestine.

Dounreay had a near Chernobyl style runaway reaction in 1968 and dumped the evidence, (most of the core bar the melted rods which could not be removed and are still there for you to see), down a low level waste shaft in the cliff. Despite dropping a tonne of boronated glass on top of it, it went critical in 1978, ejecting its contents as far as the foreshore and destroying the rock structure such that the sea bed and foreshore are now so contaminated that they cannot be remediated. I know because I made the documentary - though the runaway criticality that caused the shaft explosion was not included because that evidence only came to light later on. Never a full public inquiry nor lessons taken and learned. But let’s not get hung up on ‘outdated policies’ eh?

There is a sentence that almost never appears in Western coverage: Under international law, a people under military occupation have the right to resist that occupation. This is not a controversial claim. It is in the United Nations Charter. It is in the Geneva Conventions. It has been affirmed repeatedly by the UN General Assembly, explicitly referring to "all available means, including armed struggle." It is the same principle invoked to describe French resistance to Nazi occupation as heroic rather than terrorist. It is so uncontroversial that it doesn't need to be stated when applied to almost any other occupied people in history. When applied to Palestinians, it disappears. Not because it became false. Because the people who control which sentences appear in the news made a decision about which populations are permitted to have legally recognized rights that are spoken aloud in prime time. That decision is political. The silence around it is also political. The pretense that both are journalistic is the lie inside the lie.

Panorama editor who oversaw entirely discredited episode stitching up Jeremy Corbyn with antisemitism smears wins top job at BBC News. Rachel Jupp is feted as a "trusted troubleshooter". In other words: a safe pair of hands, ready to do the British establishment's dirty work.

“Criticisms of PISA published in The Guardian focus on how the tests distort educational priorities, rely on opaque methodology, and get misused by politicians“. But the ‘Scottish’ papers are Delighted.

So it had zero to do with national security. They lied and destroyed 1500 jobs and blocked £1.5 billion + of investment to Scotland. Because they were too childish and couldn’t handle aligning with the snp government. If you’re not angry yet you should be now.
Labour blocked a Chinese firm's £1.5bn factory in the Highlands to 'avoid aligning with SNP' in support of the plan, a former UK business secretary has alleged 👇
