Lots of new followers over the last week, for those of you who have joined recently - I'm Josh. From Australia.
I like to tinker with small language models on edge hardware - primarily in my field of passion agriculture 🌿
I'm an ambassador for @OpenBMB and look forward to fine tuning more models from their line up especially their vision models.
I'm currently building a custom front end and modified agent harness based of @NousResearch Hermes - this will provide an easy to use business personal assistant for farmers and food producers/manufacturers.
I'm now getting my head around the physical AI space with much enthusiasm.
I believe in ethical AI systems, I am a heart on my sleeve open source user and advocate across all devices I use.
If you want to be on the Right Side of AI - follow along and interact on my journey!
okay - this is cool.
inspired from building plugins in hermes. i decided to try out the creator mode in DSH...
now i see the hype. the adaptability of this is pretty crazy.
My Nous Research Hermes hackathon submission.
Lazy Plugin. a lazy cat powered plugin creator UI.
A hermes desktop dashboard for creating plugins to contribute to the Hermes community. describe a plugin in a sentence, or start from your own hermes skills or cronjob you already have.
I wanted to create a UI where Hermes users can convert their ideas into plugins, or turn their existing workflows into plugins for the broader Hermes agent community - who knows what your doing everyday could be a contribution to the community.
Create, audit, edit and publish straight to github for merge review - all in a click of a button.
Everything made in house with Hermes Agent. Video created by Hermes, music by my own plugin hermes-band.
Video creation and direction is not my strong skillset, so the clunky video is what you get 😄
PR currently in review!

lazy-plugin live action.
idea > plugin > tested > PR > github repo
this plugin creation started with an existing cron job i've had set up, my GPUs under $600 cron job I run. but you can convert your existing skills or just describe it in natural language.
session is spawned and the plugin is built right in your hermes, you can steer the conversation and answer clarifying questions in the chat session.
then publish it straight to the hermes PR
my hermes hackathon submission
@witcheer you might like this one tooo!

the high quality presentation... of stash - my hermes plugin hackathon submission #2
It's pretty simple - found something online you want hermes to look at? but don't want to commit to the session? paste it in stash and pick it up later with your hermes. accepts all links, images & notes.
that's it. actually inspired by the content @witcheer posts on X and not knowing where to keep it all... made it in the last 12 hours after seeing some content from them last night.
my second hermes hackathon plugin submission.
stash - hermes plugin
A capture bin for your Hermes sidebar.
You see something - a post, a repo, a video, a screenshot, a half-thought - and you want it later without it living in your chat history. Paste it into Stash and leave. Come back whenever, or ask your agent to go through it.
Links, YouTube urls, image urls, uploaded images and plain text all go in the same box. Titles and thumbnails fill in on their own, fetched server-side, so nothing costs you a model call.
pushing the PR soon and creating the video.

it's that simple. keep your hermes ideas such as @HermesWatcher posts in your hermes desktop.

i need help with making beautiful videos. i am not creative in that way and I really tried to get hermes to make me some promotional videos for the hackathon, and honestly it was like pulling teeth.
but i have videos i will need to make for upcoming product releases - how do you do it?
i feel like - as with anything AI if you were great at producing videos before AI, it would make you an incredible video producer now.
see my shitty videos here:

this looks like a good place to start - it's overwhelming to sift through plugins on DSH.
how are these vetted?
this is a cool submission!
looking forward to seeing all these other submissions! we all build together.

Shadow-git checkpoints before every modifying tool call → autonomous rollback when the agent wrecks the workspace → a timeline pane to scrub and restore history.

We surpassed 1000 community made plugins today!

do you think AI excites those who are lacking control in the real world?
people running 'bot companies' who have never ran companies.
managing 20 agents, but never had the opportunity to manage 20 people.
i see so many paralells between it
interestingly output is a parallel i see - when it comes to non-explicit goals, prompts or directions. as a manager you can be vague and be unsatisfied with your teams outcome. same with agents.
anyways - agents and bots aren't humans, but they possibly fill the void for some.
Geez this really brought out the conspiracy theory folks. Now Israel has gotten involved.
Just a PSA. This is the joys of open weight models - we can do whatever we want to them. And we have the choice to use them or not. If you don't like the models weights or direction - find one thats aligned.
I probably won't use this particular model because I like to code about Tiananmen Square a lot.
Introducing Arete-27B: Qwen3.8-27B, post-trained to reinforce Western values.
Chinese open models are currently the strongest available, but they ship with state-aligned behavior in the weights. We built an 803-prompt eval across seven value categories, including freedom of expression, democracy, and privacy, and measured how often a model adopts China’s party line.
After fine-tuning on roughly 53 million tokens, Arete-27B's propaganda rate fell from 22% to 1%, in line with the Western models we tested. Its Hermes Bench score shows no significant performance tradeoffs.
The values in an open model are one fine-tune away.
Our eval, weights, and training data are available now along with the full blog post: nousresearch.com/arete
2 new hermes plugins built today.
one is a UI for building plugins - lazy-plugin
github.com/RegeneratusLabs/l…
the next is stash - a place in hermes to stash online ideas (from x, youtube, github etc) that you want to point your hermes at later
github.com/RegeneratusLabs/h…
@NousResearch or @Teknium or @witcheer are multiple entries allowed for hackathon?
