This AM I appreciated joining Del @MichaelWebert and Carrie Hearne at the @VAenergysummit. The development of renewable energy is critical for Virginia having an affordable, reliable, and clean energy generation mix that meets rising energy demands.
Thank you to @GovernorVA for stepping into this process on behalf of all Virginians.
We need important questions answered to ensure that this merger benefits not just shareholders and executives, but all Virginians who are feeling rising energy prices month after month.
🚨NEW: I will be taking the unprecedented step of intervening in the proposed NextEra-Dominion merger to be a party to the case.
This $67B proposal would create the largest regulated electric utility in the world.
For a deal this consequential, I will not watch from the sidelines.

Energy storage is coming to VA! HB 895 and SB 448 (patroned by @SenBagby ) were ceremonially signed today by @GovernorVA.
This legislation sets nation-leading storage targets, along with supporting localities as they consider these important projects. – at Richmond, VA
Internships play a vital role in our workforce, and state government is no exception. This legislation will help create opportunities and help bring in the next generation of public servants in the Commonwealth. I cannot wait to see how it will strengthen Virginia government.
Today we signed bipartisan bills that centralize, strengthen, and grow internship opportunities across Virginia’s state agencies.
When a student learns how our government works, builds relationships, and discovers a career path here, they are far more likely to stay in Virginia. That is good for them and is good for the Commonwealth.
Today I joined many in celebrating Elevate Infrastructure’s historic 150MW energy storage project in Rockingham County.
It is the largest energy storage project in VA and all of PJM able to power over 100,000 homes!
Energy storage is how we will work to meet energy demands here in the Commonwealth and start making energy more affordable for all Virginians.
I was proud to carry legislation with @SenBagby that will help create this kind of energy infrastructure.
HB 328, signed yesterday, will ensure those who need health coverage for things like fertility treatment, doula care, hearing aids, donor breast milk, and more will have it.
It’s a major step in ensuring health care in the Commonwealth covers what Virginians need affordably.

7 years ago, I wrote a bill to require infertility coverage, including IVF, in VA. Last year we passed it. Today @SpanbergerForVA signed coverage on Exchange plans into law.
Grateful to work with Delegate @RipSullivan6 on this big step forward for Virginia families.
Governor Spanberger has it exactly right. Our focus is now on November. On April 21st, 3 million Virginians made their voices heard wanting Virginia to lead the fight against what is happening across the country.
We won once, and we will win again come this November.
More than three million Virginians cast their ballots in Virginia’s redistricting referendum, and the majority of Virginia voters voted to push back against a President who said he is ‘entitled’ to more Republican seats in Congress with a temporary and responsive referendum. They made their voices heard.
I am disappointed by the Supreme Court of Virginia’s ruling, but my focus as Governor will be on ensuring that all voters have the information necessary to make their voices heard this November in the midterm elections because in those elections we — the voters — will have the final say.
I am proud to share Governor Spanberger signed 19 of my bills into law.
These measures help lower energy costs, expand health care access, strengthening VA’s gun safety laws, and much more.
I look forward to seeing how these bills improve the lives of all Virginians.
This week HB 328 passed and became law, expanding health services including infertility and fertility preservation.
With this week being Infertility Awareness Week, I stand with many who deal with infertility and hope this bill helps families across VA.
