“Incomplete risk reporting causes harm because it doesn’t give people the information they need to make the healthiest choice for them and their circumstances," says former science journalist @dropeik, author of 3 books on evaluating health/safety risks.

💉People should be empowered to ask questions about vaccines and make informed decisions about their health—but this doesn’t mean dismissing all the evidence or continuously raising the bar impossibly high.
🕵️♂️Scepticism is healthy. Cynicism isn’t.

The HHS officials under Robert F. Kennedy Jr. take a less extreme approach to vaccine policy than he does. And because of that, they could be more effective than Kennedy at undermining America’s protections against disease, @katherinejwu writes: theatlantic.com/health/archi…

We've teamed up with @MumsnetTowers and @senseaboutsci to urge Parliament to improve the use of evidence in policymaking.
Here's what we're asking Parliament:
🧾Insist that the government shares the reasons and evidence behind policies, and be frank about trade-offs and uncertainty
🖊️Use evidence in committee and house decisions, and be clear when decisions are based on values rather than evidence
💬Listen to the questions constituents have about evidence, especially when it is used to make policies that are affecting their lives
