I won’t be posting or RTing here anymore. For now I’m bluesky not threads. And here’s my first 5 books so I can pin ‘em…
Whenever good-meaning people contribute to this platform, each contribution entrenches it into a critical infrastructure that we can’t escape.
The overlord here has shown he will shut down dissent to his agenda, and his agenda is foul.
In researching my @CoffeeCocaCola book, I learned the wild history of @CocaColaCo’s hand in the UN negotiations on the prohibition of coca.
Read my illustrated book for more info, or see an essay I posted about it here:

🇧🇴Bolivia recently challenged the UN’s coca leaf ban.
This process could end 70 years of racist discrimination of millions of coca leaf users, many of them indigenous people

“People in publishing often talk about ‘child-friendly’ books, which suggests something consoling, sweet and kind of nostalgic. But that’s a smokescreen, because those qualities attract parents and teachers more than children,”

Remember this image when Proud Boys talk about Western Civilization.😏
An Etruscan Amphora; 6th Century BC.
It is now on display with other repatriated art (almost exclusively Etruscan or Greek) in Aula Ottagona, a part of Baths of Diocletian.
Now used as a exhibition space for National Roman Museum in Rome, Italy.

This is a great video. Also, I met BC once promoting @justaplant (my children’s book @ marijuana) & she was very supportive/encouraging. I offered her a copy but she insisted on buying it, and FOLLOWED UP days later by email to make sure she could purchase a copy of my book. 🙏

I wrote a paper for English class arguing that regardless of one's beliefs on the morality of abortion, a film implicitly arguing that it was wrong BECAUSE it looked revolting was a moral idiocy, and that the same argument could be used to argue for a ban of open-heart surgery.

it’s honestly kind of insane that people who buy an electric SUV can get over $25k in taxpayer money while people who bike or take transit get nothing

They literally couldn’t wait a week before admitting that Threads isn’t a place for news or politics. Meta wants all the rewards that come from human interaction without any of the mess or responsibility. It’s a hollow facade built for brands to exchange money for attention.
