James Gunn revealed on his recent podcast that Man of Tomorrow will feature a scene where Superman fails to save an animal, leaving him so heartbroken that he locks himself in his room and cries all night, blaming himself for what happened.
Gunn wants audiences to emotionally connect with Superman and understand that even the Man of Steel can be completely broken by the loss of an innocent life.
