That's another theatre season done and dusted. Just had a quick count up. 11 Shows, 13 show weeks, 76 days in the theatre, plus another 14 days in rehearsal rooms / meetings. That's on top of the full-time 9 to 5. I'm getting too old for this! Think I need to do less next year!
Usual thanks to my number twos (Bronwen, Oliver, Gee, Bob etc) and hire companies (@nottinghamtec, @CollegeStTech, @EncoreEMEA\@TMowatLD), couldn't do it without you all. Time for a few weeks off before it all starts back up again in August.
Keeping me busy this panto season :-)
Watch our Sleeping Beauty Script to Stage video to see our fun journey bringing our Panto to you. Limited availability so book now to avoid disappointment. 2nd to 17th Dec 2023 - Book online at nottingham-theatre.co.uk #panto #sleepingbeauty @nottartstheatre
I don’t often tweet much about the day job but this is the current main project which has had a press release today.
Our experts are taking forward world-leading research to build a new laser-based satellite communications system, after being awarded almost £5m by @spacegovuk to design, test and build the first CubeSat with laser optical communications technology.

Back at @SquirePAC this weekend for the @spotlight_th showcases. Last one of the season for me. Nice easy weekend thanks to everyone involved. Time for a month or so away from theatres before it all starts back up again in the autumn.
I don’t know who’s providing for download this year, but they appear to have given up on trying to keep the noise within the site boundaries :-/
Too many radio mics this week. Apologies for anyone watching Carrie next door if you get an odd blast of Kinky. Kinda filled most of the spectrum 😕 – at Nottingham, England
I need to doff my hat once again. Everyone involved in #Eurovision2023 Sound, lighting, video, vision, production…… literally flawless!! Done the country proud!
Just want to take my hat off to this @HMCoastguard pilot today. We could barely stand up in this wind and they held this rock solid hover for at least half an hour! Hoping for a positive outcome :-/
Challenging show in many ways this week. Between Covid cases and equipment failures it’s been a tough week. Cracking show though. Congratulations to everyone in the NAT youth group. See you next year for Les Mis.
Another show week done. Lovely week at @SquirePAC with WBOS and 9 to 5. Thanks to all the house techs for making it an such an easy week. See you again in the summer.
That’s gotta be up there with one of the loudest shows I’ve mixed. 4 sold out shows, 4 standing ovations. Onto something a bit less pink and a bit more Dolly!
And just like that, it’s a wrap for panto 2022. Including the day job that’s 22 days straight, 70 hours a week for 3 weeks. Congratulations to everyone involved and a massive thank you to a great cast that made my job easy.
Special thank you to @AmandaHall89 , @NAT_Panto , and @CollegeStTech for their continued trust and support. Two days back at the day job then back again for a quick Christmas concert before the holidays. Hope everyone has a great Christmas and new year.
