On the subject of young Wheat Kings’ success, Rylan Edwards, the team’s first round pick from 2026, had a five-point night last night to move to two points per game (30 in 15) in the Saskatchewan U18 AAA ranks. He leads the league in scoring, six points clear of the next man up.
Pretty good game offensively for Cruz Jim! He buried that one with authority
Kane Cloutier (@Oshawa_Generals) and Cruz Jim (@bdnwheatkings) in quick succession!
Two goals in 16 seconds for 🇨🇦⚪️ and they lead 7-5 over 🇫🇮 in their #WorldU17 quarterfinal!
Pretty slick feed by Cruz Jim on the play to set up Canada White’s opening goal.
Jacob McKinnon again! 🇨🇦⚪️
Make that three straight games with a goal for the @ArmadaBLB star! 🤩 #WorldU17
My latest for Q Country on the Wheat Kings features a Moose Warning, expansion extrapolation, yet another dam bursting, players demoted but undaunted, and a shot clock paradox: qcountryfm.ca/2026/11/04/in-…
I’ve got all the time in the world for Tyrel Bauer. The guy just works, grinds, and is by all accounts an excellent human being. He picks up his first NHL goal and celebrates almost nonchalantly, and grabs his first Gordie Howe Hat Trick. He’s such an easy guy to root for.
Tough go for the Wheat Kings tonight no question, but with five goals in his last four games Kris Muissu is most definitely on the right track. As this is the quarter mark of the season, he’s on pace for 44 goals.
Always nice to meet a fan but in this case it’s me being the fan meeting Bernie the St. Bernard. Sadly Bernie had to respectfully decline our invitation to join the broadcast crew but you should join us for Wheat Kings versus Broncos anyway at 4:00 on YouTube and Q Country 91.5
So far this season the Wheat Kings have proven very adept at winning the second games of back-to-backs on the road. Let’s see if they can keep excelling in that regard. Join me on Q Country 91.5 at 8:00 Central Time.
Quote Marty Murray after Kris Muissu’s two goals last night: “I don’t think even an NHL goalie is stopping those.” The guy they call Moose is heating up.
Four Wheat Kings crack NHL Central Scouting’s first list of the season: Jaxon Jacobson, Colin Grubb, Prabh Bhathal, and Kris Muissu. Still plenty of time for other BWKs to crack the list as the season goes along. chl.ca/article/176-chl-devel…
Not the result the Wheat Kings wanted tonight but very impressed by early returns on Aiden Foster. He fights a 6-foot-7 guy in his first game in Brandon then picks up a goal and an assist in his second.
New kingdom, first tally 😮💨
Aiden Foster gets his first as a Wheat King! 🚨

This shot from Surkan is genuinely one of the best shots I’ve called with the Wheat Kings and given the cast of shooters they’ve had the last few seasons that’s no small claim. It was on and off his stick in a heartbeat and perfectly placed. An NHL caliber shot.
Aiden Foster brings a skillset and experience that seem to be just what the Brandon Wheat Kings need. And despite 1900 kilometers of travel to get here, the Tampa Bay Lightning prospect practically bursts with enthusiasm to be a Wheat King: qcountryfm.ca/2026/10/21/357…
Similarly, you go to 11 for a first career goal and overtime winner. Great finish by Cruz Jim, who has been so strong and poised beyond his years for the Wheat Kings in his 16-year-old season.
As a broadcaster you can’t “go to 11” on every goal but when the hometown boy and captain completes a hat trick to erase a 4-1 deficit, you go to 11. A statement game by Jacobson.
JAXON JACOBSON, ARE YOU KIDDING?!?! 🤯
Jacobson completes the hat trick, tying the game and sending it to overtime!

Back in the home booth again with a special guest on colour commentary: former Wheat King and current Wheat Kings goalie coach Tyler Plante. The pregame show starts right away and we’re on YouTube and Q Country 91.5 at 6:00!
Both today and in the last week, the Wheat Kings have given me plenty to talk about. My latest for Q Country on a big trade in every sense, a concrete show of confidence, creating a Monster, and big skates to fill on the international stage: qcountryfm.ca/2026/10/16/in-…
After the best out of conference road trip in their modern history, the Wheat Kings could’ve stood pat and no one would’ve blamed them. Instead they swung for the fences and picked up a power forward with an increasingly rare blend of meanness and skill: qcountryfm.ca/2026/10/16/whe…
Big pickup by the Wheat Kings who ticks a lot of boxes. Foster brings skill, size, two-way acumen, playoff experience, and a ton of snarl. The Wheat Kings made a statement with this one.
TRADE: We have acquired four WHL Prospects Draft picks, including a conditional first-round selection, from the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for forward Aiden Foster.
