Fallen Angels (1995), directed by Wong Kar-wai, was originally conceived as the third story of Chungking Express before developing into a separate film. Wong considered the two films complementary, describing them as “the bright and dark of Hong Kong.” While Chungking Express captures the city's daytime energy, Fallen Angels explores its lonely, neon-lit nights.
Starring Leon Lai, Michelle Reis, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Karen Mok, the film follows a hitman and several disconnected individuals searching for human connection. Wong deliberately used extreme wide-angle lenses, placing the camera close to the actors while making them appear emotionally distant. As he explained, “The main characters of Chungking Express are not Faye Wong or Takeshi Kaneshiro, but the city itself.”
With its hypnotic soundtrack, distorted perspectives and dark humour, Fallen Angels is a haunting portrait of loneliness, missed connections and life in a city that never sleeps.

It wasn't the sexual assault allegations.
It wasn't the coup attempt on January 6th.
It wasn't the racism.
It wasn't the transphobia.
It was the price of gas and groceries. As great as last night was, the sad reality is that Americans didn't care until it affected their wallets

We also have to thank Marc Elias for his tireless pursuit of justice. Fighting all the illegal things and BS cases that Trump tried to use to steal the election.
Thank you Sir

🇺🇸 Trump: "I have brought down the gas price from the highs of the Biden regime."
🇺🇸 Reporter: "That's not true."
🇺🇸 Trump: "What?"
🇺🇸 Reporter: "Gas was $3 per gallon when Biden left office. Now it is $4 per gallon."
🇺🇸 Trump: "Shut up. You are fake news."
American journalists just discovered they have backbones.

Two days before, I said that it will be tough for me to post Film-Noir recommendations throughout the month as I used to on Noirvember. But look what I found:
Top 60 Noirs recommended by Martin Scorsese.
It has a good mix of popular and B Noirs. There isn't a movie here in the list that I dislike. If you are new to the genre, I think it is a good list to start with.
I have seen 44 of movies in it and I mean to see the rest soon. How many films have you seen from this list?

Although people all over the world are happy to see Trump and MAGA becoming unpopular in the USA, the reason behind it is far less encouraging.
Trump could support Putin and Russia all he wanted. He could continue to let Ukrainians get slaughtered, treat Canada like shit, threaten Denmark with war, steal from Venezuela to line his own pockets, support Israel's brutality, and insult allies day after day. The American public doesn't support these things, but they don't seem to care very much about them either.
The only reason people are now turning against Trump is because — of all unimportant things — gas has become a little bit more expensive in in a country wealthier than any other in world history. THAT is what infuriates the average voter and makes them turn against Trump
The rest of the world is lucky that this is happening, as it weakens Trump. But that doesn't mean we should assume that the USA will act morally on the world stage in the future. Deep down, they simply don't care very much.
