Thanks to everyone who spent their Saturday afternoon with us at Pumpkins, Crafts and Chats! It was great seeing so many Burlington families get creative with fall crafts, enjoy some face painting, and warm up with apple cider and hot chocolate. 🍂🍎 We hope you had as much fun as we did!

Kinda ironic that he called his book “Values” eh?
Carney flew to Ankara and signed a statement saying Canada and Turkey share "human rights, individual liberties, democracy and the rule of law." 🤦🏻‍♂️ 8 days earlier, police raided Halk TV, one of the last opposition channels, cut the live feed and put a government trustee in charge. Erdoğan's main rival, Istanbul's mayor, has been in jail since March 2025. 27 journalists locked up or awaiting trial. A comedian got almost 19 months for calling Erdoğan a "shy dictator." Over 100 people arrested in September raids on LGBT groups. Osman Kavala, 8+ years in prison, despite Europe's own human rights court ordering him freed. Asked if he raised any of it, Carney said those talks work better "not reported out in detail." Trade with them if you want. Just don't pretend they share our values. Values matter, eh? 🇨🇦

This weekend, community members from across the @PerthSouthTwp and the @townofstmarys gathered at the Blanshard Community War Memorial, commonly refer to the Rannoch Cenotaph now, to mark the 80th Anniversary  of the Welcome Home and Memorial Service held after the end of the Second World War.  A lot has changed in the 80 years since that memorial service and the 105 years since the War Memorial was commissioned by Blanshard Township. But our commitment to remembering the local sons and fathers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom remains unchanged. We will remember them. 🌺

Exactly. This election in some ways was a proxy for the popular will in a Trudeau 2025 election. Instead switcheroo candidate Carney masterfully and cynically played the Trump card and continues to. Eby’s failed gambit to play it is a significant factor with national relevance.
Progressives blaming Eby’s defeat in the election timing are totally missing the point. The whole purpose of the early election was to try to overcome the government’s unpopularity rooted in its poor outcomes. The real problem was the cumulative cost of Eby’s ideological agenda. His government was the last holdout of the failures of Trudeauian progressivism: a subordination of economic growth in favour of deficit financed welfare spending, a dogmatic commitment to climate change and its anti-development effects, excessive identity politics and an overly self critical posture towards Canadian history, and its radical experiment with the harm reduction model. Election timing and campaign choices didn’t defeat the Eby government. A broad cross-section of British Columbians—from rural parts of the province to downtown Vancouver—rejected it based on the self-evident failure of its ideas.

When hard working Canadians owe money to the government, Revenue Canada seizes assets, pursues them in court, and garnishes wages. When Liberal insiders pocket millions thanks to their connections, Carney basically tells them to keep the change. Mark Carney isn’t here for you.

Open your eyes, keffiyeh people.
The real genocide is happening right now all over the world by the Muslims, and all you can talk about is the Israel and Palestine (Muslims) genocide.

Strong communities are built on safe, secure and reliable public institutions. Proud to recently announce the completion of $5.3 million in security upgrades at the #NorthBay Courthouse, part of our government's more than $250M commitment to strengthen court security since 2018. – at North Bay, Ontario

It was a pleasure to attend the McCormick Cup final in Oakville and cheer on the Oakville Crusaders as they faced the Brantford Harlequins! Sporting events like Ontario’s provincial men’s rugby championship bring communities together through the spirit of sportsmanship, celebrate the dedication and talent of athletes across the province, and inspire the next generation to get involved in sports. Thank you to Chris, the President of the Crusaders Rugby Club, for your warm welcome and congratulations to both teams on a great season! @crurugby68 @BrianSaunderson @RugbyOntario @MayorRobBurton #Oakville #OakvilleCrusaders

Sex offenders, men who beat up women, and other serious violent criminals getting reduced sentences because of race. This is wrong. There is no excuse. PERIOD. Everyone should follow the same laws & do the same time for the same crime, regardless of race.

Carney’s “prudent banker” brand is dead. The PBO just showed the books are being cooked Debt-service costs are now the fastest-growing federal expense: $25B five years ago → $59B this year (already larger than the Canada Health Transfer) → $83B in five years. Pure interest, paid before anything else PBO Annette Ryan: the government’s fiscal “anchors” are “more like traffic lights.” Capital spending gets a green light; operating spending is a yellow at best. “Limited fiscal discipline. It’s not stopping spending.” Real cash borrowing over five years: $733B. New debt from deficits: only $333B. The ~$400B gap is being parked with Crown corporations, loans and special funds—“a step removed from parliamentary oversight.” New risks, she said, and less transparency The former Bank of Canada/Bank of England governor who once policed balance sheets is now redefining accounting so the headline targets stay pretty while the actual liability grows off-books. Taxpayers get stuck with the interest bill @PBO_DPB

I just voted for change in Toronto. If you are tired of being told to accept a city in decline then you have 9 more hours to get out and vote as well. Olivia Chow is a nice person but not up to the job. Vote for Brad Bradford to bring about the change this city needs.
If you want to change the city, you have to vote to change the Mayor, today. Polls are open 10am - 8pm today.

Friends, in just two days, Christians were murdered on two continents. On Friday, gunmen opened fire on a funeral at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in Karak, Jordan, and killed nine people. On Saturday, armed men attacked Orthodox churches and homes in Oromia, Ethiopia, and killed more than forty. These are not statistics. They are our brothers and sisters, members of the mystical Body of Christ. When Saul set out to destroy the Church, the risen Jesus asked him, “Why are you persecuting me?” The Lord is still being persecuted in these victims of anti-Christian violence. Christianity is by far the most persecuted religion in the world today. Those of us who worship in comfort have to ask what the deaths of these martyrs demand of us. At the very least, they demand that we pray for them, learn their names, press our leaders to act, and refuse to look away. The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.
