Brett Herron, GOOD CPT Mayoral Candidate, joined fellow party representatives to debate the future of Cape Town, tackling issues such as housing, safety, service delivery and economic growth.
GOOD's vision for 2026 is clear: a city that works for all, with well-run communities, dignified housing opportunities, safer neighbourhoods, and one standard of service for every resident, regardless of where they live.

One week, #SouthAfrica, #midterms . This is what the PR ballot for Local Government Elections is.
Parties saying they're the only party big enough or strong enough, are misleading you. The only reason they're that big is because they received votes..

#CricketTwitter thankyou to everyone at Newlands today who asked me about the cricket hìstory on my poster regarding my uncle being the first spin bowler to take 5 wickets in a test for South Africa. I don't know if the cameras found my @NeilManthorp poster on the other size
The @Our_DA and @geordinhl can tweet as much as they want. I'll just reply with the situation in #CapeTown and what one is actually voting for on the PR ballot.

Understand proportional representation. Know what you are voting for on the PR ballot. You are voting for an individual who best represents YOUR beliefs in city council

Understand #proportionalrepresentation. Parties don't want you to. They say to form a strong opposition, but you can vote for what you believe to be represented in council.

This video explains proportional representation, a key to understanding how elections work... and the importance of one vote... possibly your vote... to create change

The DA's propaganda machine is working overtime.
Some of us know that the DA has been declining in local government elections.
Wha will suddenly make it grow now? Will the decline of the ANC lead to the DA growth? Absolutely not.
The ANC's decline will boost MK and EFF.

GOOD representatives met with residents of Covid Informal Settlements in Ward 118 to follow up on the stalled road construction project, which has yet to resume, with no explanation given to the community.
GOOD’s pledge for An Equitable City focuses on ensuring that all communities receive the same standard of infrastructure and services. Residents deserve answers about the delays and action to ensure that road projects are completed, rather than being left waiting without information.

Can someone please help me find how to apply to be in the #openingceremony of #CricketWorldCup next year? I was in the 2003 opening ceremony in #SouthAfrica too #CricketTwitter

Electricity Tariffs: the DA’s in court, AGAIN, to charge us more. They tried to keep it hush-hush but we found it in the NERSA record of decision documents that I got through PAIA.

#CapeTown the mayor will tell you that voting for other parties creates chaos. Here's what it does: 1) accountability: @Our_DA can't just do what THEY want; 2) you selecting councilors that represent YOUR values and beliefs
Vote @ForGoodZA on 4 November

GOOD Ward 89 candidate Ernest Funani, alongside Brett Herron, met with Ward 89 residents in Site B, Khayelitsha, to hear concerns about sanitation, refuse removal, crime, street lighting and unequal access to EPWP employment opportunities.
An Equitable City means ensuring that both formal and informal settlements receive fair access to municipal services, safer streets and employment opportunities. Residents also need responsive local government that works with community organisations and addresses long-standing service delivery concerns.

If you vote for the DA in the 2026 local elections, you are out-of-your-mind!
DA’s Hoosen Confronted Over Navi Pillay and Netanyahu
A heated exchange unfolded at the eThekwini Mayoral Debate over DA leader Geordin Hill-Lewis’s response to Judge Navi Pillay, a prominent advocate for Palestinian rights, following reports of her Nobel Peace Prize recognition.
Hill-Lewis had reportedly described Pillay as controversial, raising questions about the DA’s position. DA mayoral candidate Haniff Hoosen was challenged over his party leader’s remarks, whether he had raised the matter internally, and whether he would publicly congratulate Pillay in his capacity as mayor of eThekwini.
The exchange then turned to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, with Hoosen asked whether he would officially receive him as mayor of eThekwini, despite the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant against Netanyahu for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

#CapeTown vote @ForGoodZA ... the only reason they're currently a small party is because they didn't get a lot of votes. #SouthAfrica #LGE2026 #Elections
