I kid you not, @itchio has been taken down by @OriginalFunko because they use some trash "AI Powered" Brand Protection Software called @BrandShieldltd that created some bogus Phishing report to our registrar, @iwantmyname, who ignored our response and just disabled the domain

"It's a whale of a video--93 minutes!--but it covers an enormous amount of good information, and hey, it shows an entire triple-A game and Free Software project moved over to SDL3 in one shot."

VHS-Decode has to be one of the most interesting software projects I've stumbled upon recently.
It replaces the decoding process of a VHS tape with a software stack, bypassing most of the original hardware.
Using an FPGA device for RF capture like the MiSTer, it creates a "lossless" digital archive, which then runs through demodulation, noise filtering, chroma decoders, and more to create an archive in significantly higher quality than could ever be made with traditional methods.
Multiple tapes can even be combined and merged to create a capture that is better than any one individual tape. This is amazing for archival purposes; instead of storing tapes which are just going to continue to get worse with age, imagine backing up multiple RF-copies to the cloud!

C is great because it's simple and straightforward. I find it very pleasant and there's no cognitive overload. C# is great because I find it frictionless to write. The tools and conveniences make coding a very smooth experience. C++ is a programming language I use.

This is our venerable Canon PW-1080A dot matrix printer. Bought for use with our BBC Micro in about 1985, it still works perfectly. But bringing it back in to use recently revealed a problem 🧵/1
