ALT We wanted to lay out a little more on our thinking about the changes we have made for the Rollerblaster label and why we have committed to operate in the most ethical and artist centred way we can going forward. We know from the relationships we have built with artist and DJs that increasingly opportunity and money are tight and that the music industry can be a toxic and soul sucking place which makes talented people very unhappy. We want to do what we can to be an antidote to that based on three principles - investment, reward and support.

ALT Investment When you sign your music to a label we think there should be a minimum expectation of what that label will do to promote you and your work. There are too many labels out there signing music and making no effort. So we pledge to invest our time and skill -free of charge - and to invest the money we have in promotion and a professional final product. And when we say promotion we mean he a real opportunity to reach radio and club DJs across the world and licensing on to compilations so that your music remains active and alive over years not just weeks.

ALT Reward When we invest money we need to make it back but after that it is the talent of the artist that should be rewarded. We know of labels offering just 20% of profits back to artists and we think that is far from fair. So we are going to move to a position where we increase our offer to a 70% return back to artists.

ALT Support We know that we can’t talk enough about artists mental health. Many of us have lost people close to us in the house music scene or have seen despair and suffering. so with the remaining 30% of our profit we are going to commit to donating that to charities that support musicians mental health. We will also source the best advice we can on staying well and getting help and we will promote that along with the music. These changes will help us sleep better at night and we hope they make a real difference to the community of artists who work with us.
