“NYC First Lady Rama Duwaji Illustrated for Anti-Israel Olive Oil Brand That Honors Plane-Shooting “Resistance Fighter” & Celebrates PFLP Founder” Rama Duwaji, wife of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, has created illustrations for Olive Odyssey, a Palestinian olive oil company whose social media features virulently anti-Israel content, “from the river to the sea,” references to trees watered by “martyrs’ blood,” and antisemitic imagery. The brand sells premium bottles featuring a hand-drawn portrait of Khalil Abu Osba — described by the company as a “Palestinian resistance fighter.” His granddaughter has publicly stated that he shot down a British plane with a rifle during the British Mandate, was sentenced to death, imprisoned in Acre, and later escaped. Olive Odyssey has also commemorated Ghassan Kanafani, the spokesman and political bureau member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a U.S.-designated terrorist organization. Duwaji, born in Houston to Syrian parents and raised in the UAE, is listed on the company’s site as a “Syrian illustrator.” She has also served as artist-in-residence at a luxury Islamic women’s retreat whose organizers called for the abolition of Israel.
