Q: Joe Biden asked you if you wanted to be evacuated? Zelensky: He was the first. Q: What did he say? Zelensky: "We are ready to help you evacuate. Kyiv is surrounded, and we are ready to help you and your family." Likewise, many Europeans offered me that later. Q: What did you say to Biden? Zelensky: I need ammunition, not a ride.

Zelensky: A day before the invasion, the Europeans, who knew less than the Americans, were talking with Putin. Putin promised them there wouldn't be an invasion. He lied to all of them. He knew there would be an invasion. He knew everything.

Zelensky: Nobody expected that they would go through Belarus and advance on the capital. That's why we didn't have any strong troops there. That is an absolute fact. We simply didn't have that kind of army. Just imagine 200,000 people coming at you. It's simply impossible to defend. You need an army like the one we have today, 800,000. We held out and destroyed them. They didn't have enough troops to hold the occupied territories, and they had to pull back. That's how we fully took back Kyiv region, Chernihiv region and that whole front.

Occasionally, I hear from my Democratic friends, “If you’d just run rational Republicans here in CA, I’d vote for them.” Well, I just heard @HerbWMorgan - the GOP candidate for Controller - and like my friend, @lanheechen before him, there is NO DOUBT who the better candidate is for all Californians.

Witkoff called Putin a humanitarian today. Here is some of his humanitarian work:

President Putin is a murderer. His soldiers use rape as a weapon. He has launched wars costing thousands of lives. His agents have stolen children and destroyed families. Russia today is what President Reagan correctly called it: the evil empire.
Steve Witkoff to Putin: You talk so much about my president, President Trump, being a humanitarian. You are a humanitarian also, sir, and I salute that, I commend you, and I thank you again.

Vladimir Putin is not our friend, and he is certainly no humanitarian. His relentless attacks on innocent civilians in Ukraine show his total disregard for human life. Appeasement won't end this war. Pressure will.

Show me your budget and schedule and I’ll tell you your strategy.
If you’re skeptical of public polls, what a lot of wise political observers do is watch what the politicians and political groups (with access to very expensive data) DO. 1) where are they sending their VIPs? 2) where are they putting their money? 3) who is acting desperate?

$558,000 A YEAR. That’s the salary on the table for LA County’s CEO. $158,000 more than the President of the United States. More than 7 times what the average LA-area worker earns. Meanwhile, families can’t afford groceries, gas, or housing, and seniors are being priced out of their homes. LA County’s answer? Raise taxes and defend outrageous spending. Public service was never supposed to be a get-rich-quick scheme. LA County doesn’t have a revenue problem. It has a PRIORITIES problem. Enough is enough.
The elected County Executive, who will make a salary of roughly $558,000 and not have term limits, will be one of the most powerful and highly paid politicians in the entire state of California. This presents a clear conflict of interest for every member of our @LACountyBOS, which is why I made a pledge not to run for the position. I'm calling on my colleagues to do the same. Doug is absolutely right on this. This is how they take on the elitist look big time
"Let's call in the actors" never really works for Dems, but they keep going back to the same well over and over.
