Cleaning the GMDC garden for Officers to enjoy with CJ reform advocates, @CorrectionNYC, staff, @VinSchiraldi @AdrienneEAdams1 creates healing from the inside out. We did the same at RMSC for incarcerated people and doing the same at AMKC/RNDC. We see all people touched by Rikers
This morning, I was happy to join @CorrectionNYC to help clean the garden at the George Motchan Detention Center on Rikers Island. This garden is a sanctuary for our corrections officers, who need this space to decompress while doing one of the toughest jobs. #NewDayDOC

Big news: Macy’s has settled a lawsuit with The Fortune Society over its criminal history screening practices.
We welcome the steps Macy’s is taking to more fairly evaluate applicants with conviction histories and comply with the #FairChanceAct.

We stand with @TrinityWallSt in calling on @NYCMayor to house people leaving Rikers. To truly provide access to permanent housing for people with convictions, we must pass #FairChanceforHousing to end background checks in housing. bit.ly/2WFRpXB

.@GoyaFoods has been a staple of so many Latino households for generations.
Now their CEO, Bob Unanue, is praising a president who villainizes and maliciously attacks Latinos for political gain. Americans should think twice before buying their products. #Goyaway

Devah Pager would greet you with lines like, "You brought a huge smile to my face." The smile was already there, of course, but she liked to spread around the credit. We will not forget what she said, what she did (oh, what she did!), or how she made us feel.
