Not sure how it works where you are, but many PCI reports I see end with a somewhat self-absolving statement about "excellent procedural success", based largely on the operator’s visual estimate (i.e., the judgment is in the eye of the beholder). Well, this study shows that when success is defined using standardized criteria and assessed by a core lab, things look quite different and success rates drop substantially.

In STEMI patients with multivessel disease, reduced LVEF increases ischaemic risk — but the COMPLETE trial showed complete revascularisation reduces major CV events regardless of LVEF.

Age alone may not adequately reflect prognosis after aortic valve replacement.
In this nationwide Danish cohort, comorbidity burden was a major determinant of observed survival, with implications for lifetime management strategies and valve selection.

In the Multivessel TALENT trial, core lab QCA identified lower device success rates after PCI than visual assessment (88.0% vs 97.4%).
Failure to meet QCA-based criteria was associated with higher rates of lesion-oriented clinical events at 1 year.

In the prespecified HBR substudy of SELUTION DeNovo, a sirolimus-eluting balloon strategy with provisional stenting was compared with systematic DES implantation.
At 1 year, rates of target vessel failure, major bleeding, and net adverse clinical events were numerically lower with the SEB strategy.
