All of 5 minutes dealing with a child with ASD. This child has injured 3 EAs and myself since Thursday.... school started less than a week ago. The child is smart enough to lean to bite and turn their body to kick you... this is not fair to anyone, but especially....
To those who deal with it on the daily. We NEED more staff in schools who are trained to deal with this. We need more staff because there are too many needs. This is unsafe for everyone involved. #cutshurtkids #behaviours #injured

If abortion is murder, then letting your child die of a preventable disease because you refused to vaccinate them should be too.

900 hundred days left for the president with the big behind and empty head. Then we can start repairing the damage he’s done. Starting with NO BALLROOM and RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!

😂 Who doesn’t love Team Belgium mocking Trump’s Double Jerk-Off Dance in their locker room after annihilating USA 4-1?
No reason to track students attendance when those who created it spend half the year on vacation.... fill it out! #SchoolEducation #ontarioed #cutshurtkids

Melania Trump says Jimmy Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our county.
I stand with Jimmy against Melania Trump!
Who is with me? 👍
Love when "the team" comes to the school to tell me all the things I'm doing wrong with the kids they don't know...and then the runner takes off on them... but yes, I'm the problem 😆
If a child can't hear the word "no", we are creating a society of temper tantrums. "No" is a part of life. When a teacher/ EA/CYC says no to a kid they should absolutely not be attacked. The child should learn to hear no. Enough is enough.
“No” is not the problem — it’s part of real life.
I understand that some children (including those with ASD) may find “no” triggering. But avoiding the word entirely doesn’t prepare them for the world they live in. Life is full of limits, boundaries, and moments where the answer
will be no — from teachers, peers, workplaces, and society.
Today, I was pinched and scratched for setting a boundary. That doesn’t mean the boundary was wrong. Our role isn’t to remove every trigger — it’s to help children safely learn how to handle them.
If school-based CYWs disappear, guess who absorbs the fallout?
Teachers. Principals. Office staff.
The same people already juggling academics, IEPs, meetings, parent calls, supervision, paperwork, and a hundred daily decisions.
In Ontario, we talk about safe, inclusive schools. That only works when teachers can teach and principals can lead — not spend their day putting out behavioural fires that could’ve been prevented.
CYWs don’t replace educators. We support them.
Take away the support, and the system feels it immediately.

Cutting school-based CYWs is the stupidest “cost-saving” move I’ve ever heard.
You can’t say you care about student mental health and then remove the very people who:
• de-escalate crises before they become suspensions
• support kids with trauma
• build regulation + coping skills
• prevent violence
• support attendance
• back up teachers
• connect families to resources
In places like Ontario, we talk a big game about well-being and inclusion — but take away the frontline support? Make it make sense.
CYWs aren’t extras. We’re prevention. We’re relationship. We’re the calm in the chaos.
You don’t save money by cutting us — you just move the cost somewhere else.
