Today, @AmbJJagne joined @UN #SRSG @_VanessaFrazier, #UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell, @unicefchief, and Watchlist Director, Bethany Ellis, in briefing the #UN Security Council on 30 years of the Children and Armed Conflict mandate.
With 24,174 children affected by grave violations in 2025 alone, the urgency could not be clearer.
Drawing on her recent mission to Maiduguri, Borno State, she called for stronger #AU-#UN cooperation, sustained investment in recovery and reintegration, accountability, as well as quick-win initiatives.
Thirty years on, success must be measured not by commitments made, but by children protected.
