Warning, long post. Sorry, I have a lot of feelings on this one.
Marine, you and I both know a Portland-area agitator who has become an expensive nuisance we all subsidize. He baits protesters, college students, people walking down the street, and now a women's sports bar, and he gets people arrested or pepper sprayed. I watched a young PSU student get charged with felony theft for grabbing the phone that was turning him into non-consensual content and tossing it into the street.
Bait someone, film the reaction, monetize the meme. It's parasites farming strangers' worst moments for clicks. We pay for the police response, the court time and the public safety resources, and he pockets the revenue. Why do we allow this?
YouTube's funding model creates the incentive for street violence. I raised it with every member of my congressional delegation and got zero response. The platforms are complicit and cashing in on this trash, and it's destroying us. People are right to be fed up. It's time for real laws and platform rules. That's what government is for. Too bad we don't have a Congress.

People are fed up with nuisance-creators, thank goodness this man is being supported by his company, I feel like a couple moments longer and we would have seen a side of him that the company would have been forced to disavow and potentially ruin his life.
I think society should look at cases like these and give the man the opportunity to beat the ever living shit out of that prick who thinks this anti-social behavior is worthy content.
