Love this. 3D printing is a key method to develop parts for @Rebelcoastalrow NEXTboatworks C1X boat. Saves on initial tooling costs, keeps parts development up to date. #science revolutionizing #boatbuilding and #coastalrowing

The role of stroke is to follow the rhythm of the boat, and make it better: longer, more connected etc. To follow, without seeing, you've got to be willing to let the boat lead. what happens when you try to listen to something faint? You relax. Hope that helps.

This is not the only form of `Coastal Rowing', founded in 2009 in Scotland using the St Ayles Skiff design, all wooden rowing craft, 4 rowers + cox. Each club builds the boat they row, clubs all over U.K. & worldwide, for more info please see @OfficialSCRA for a Club near you.

Interesting discussion. I would say that I would be very surprised if a “normal club” could produce a crew capable of reaching the final of any Open event at Henley within a 5 year time frame. Those events are dominated by national squad crews.

Single scullers! I've been contacted by a design student trying to find better solutions for storing your phone / water bottle etc. in your single. Help her to help us by filling in her survey and adding your thoughts. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F…

Officials and umpires give up their time for free so that competition can happen. Do you ever thank them? I never did as a rower or rowing coach. Maybe it’s time to change the culture? Who’s going to thank the volunteers at @nsr_uk tomorrow? #gratitude #umpire #volunteer
