Genie3 generates videos. We generate 𝟯𝗗 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱𝘀 you can actually use.
Launching tomorrow — Tencent #HYWorld 2.0, an engine-ready World Model🚀
This isn't a video. It's a real 3D scene, all generated & editable. One image in. A whole 3D world out.
🔥Open-source tomorrow

If you are learning to code for the first time: don't have a “big vision”, don’t create a “platform”, or an “eco system”.
Start with something small, well scoped, fun, creative, even better if it’s useful.
And most importantly: finish the project!
Repeat until you are good with the tech.
Build a portfolio of small but finished projects for yourself!

Writing really comes so easy for me.
Same with coding.
Design is a source of frustration. But only because I get frustrated when my design is way below the standards that I should make😅
But I’m focusing more on writing first.
There is so much that writing can do.

There have been a lot of times when the fear of failing has stopped me from taking any action.
This little reminder helped me a lot:
Action often brings learning, even from mistakes.
Make that mistake.
You'll find yourself wiser after.

Today I spent 8 hours
Doing so much,
with nothing done
New role
New function
Work is overwhelming again
But it doesn’t have to be
I’m taking back my time and freedom
Time to optimize my workflow again. 😄

I got lucky
2012 I’m a fresh graphic designer who hated graphic design
2 months later I wasn’t a graphic designer anymore 😅
I converted myself into a web developer in the marketing department 😂
Was I happy then? No. The next 3 months was hell 🫠

I successfully negotiated my raise today.
My salary increased by 1100% w/in 7 yrs. Yes, 1100%.
In my previous job, had it raised by 125% w/in 4 yrs.
I'm not good with negotiating.
But learning how to increase your value helps a lot. 👍

I did it. You can too. But you have to start. Give before you ask. Focus on getting better & not the numbers. Learn before you scale.

I recently explored how to use @splinetool to create some abstract and colorful images - like those that we see being generated by Midjourney all the time. Here's a quick tutorial showing how you can do the same!
Let me know if you create something with that tutorial, I'd love to see people having fun like I had doing this experiment!

if you are new to swe and feel you are bad at your job, you are probably right
ask yourself
what am i bad at?
how can i improve?
what should i learn one level deeper?
stop being helpless, blaming imposter syndrome, you are bad and that is ok. you can get better

The craziest part of becoming a developer is realizing you can advance anywhere you want and only you can hold yourself back.
Wanna...
- study after work to switch careers? Yep
-make apps and indie hack? Yep
-just freelance? Yep
The sky really is the limit. So, do you wanna?

Stopped working like a maniac and started taking care of my health.
Prev:
— Wake up by 8/9
— start work with 2 coffees
— work non-stop till 9 pm
— eat instant ramen for dinner
— in bed by 1 am
Now:
— Wake up by 7
— eat 3 healthy meals/day
— work in sprints till 6/7pm
— exercise + read daily
— in bed by 11 pm tops
I wasn't enjoying building over the last few weeks. Fixing my routine made everything fun again!

That’s not stealing haha. We all get inspiration from somewhere, nothing is 100% original. Inspiration is okay!

My perspective around building new features has completely changed from
— build it + add 20+ customization options + add localizations for 10 languages + eliminate all bugs.
— to just ship it and see what happens
If nobody uses it, then I'd have wasted days/weeks perfecting a tool that nobody wants.
If people start using it, they'll give hyper-focused feedback that'll show what we should really be working on.
