Solutions journalism is part of our cognitive defense.
Russia’s war is fought not only with missiles and drones, but also through fear, panic, anger and helplessness. Journalism can help people move from helplessness toward agency — by showing that action is possible.
Shared this at #bFutureFestival in Bonn during our workshop with on @RubrykaEng experience with solutions journalism in Ukraine.
Huge thanks to @ECPMF for supporting our participation and helping bring Ukrainian media realities into these conversations 💙
And yes, one slightly younger participant also joined the discussion about the future of journalism 👀

As publisher not only @rubryka, but also media about Donetsk and Luhansk regions @eastern_variant I was glad to bring the perspective of an independent Ukrainian newsroom to #BREAKWATERFestival in Gdańsk.
We spoke about community-first journalism and what Ukrainian media have learned from working through war, uncertainty and constant security risks.
Thank you @LvivMediaForum, @correctiv_org for creating space for these conversations — and for supporting @eastern_variant as we build a stronger community around our journalism.
