indigenous peoples in Philippines are already so unrepresented and they're always getting silenced when their lands are being stolen one by one. it's so fucked up that filipinos are still defending stealing indigenous lands and harming and disrupting their lives

I'm not using Tiktok for Filipino politics again because fym there's still naive mfs defending Pax Silica because "Muh Progress" whilst shrugging off the fact that indigenous communities are getting displaced just for this bullshit?

she’s trying to take credit for progressive victories without making endorsements just like how she took credits on a teenager’s song without contributing to it

Taylor Swift says she wanted to make sure she wasn’t kicking anybody else off the ‘Toy Story 5’ soundtrack before agreeing to do ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ — after leaving Pixar on hold while she completed the Eras Tour: “I was repeatedly asking, ‘I know that it took me a couple months to come back to this project. Be honest: Did you guys replace me? I don’t want to kick somebody off of this project that you reached out to after [me]. I understand, but I’m not in the business of doing that.'” (billboard.com/music/music-ne…)

the philippine research scene is honestly one of the bleakest. people are getting degrees in schools that only give degrees for the sake of giving degrees without really engaging with academia and its all overly empirical and positivist, possessing no ontology outside “numbers”.

this is rooted in the ancient and wicked customs of ff.net and lj writers who would hold fic chapters hostage until enough people wrote an in-depth bullet-pointed comment addressing every plot point with endless praise. normal people have left this behind

Everyone sold me Manila as a sh*thole to skip, but it might be top 3 capitals in South East Asia? Are you guys smoking crack? Modern, full of history, skyscrapers and malls on each corner, you can bike, run, do sports outside, next to the sea. I wish I could stay longer wow

unfortunately, a close friend of mine has passed very recently, so I've been doing my best in finishing my remaining queue as much as I can despite it, but this is also still very much needed. if you can donate what you can and share, it's more than enough help. thank you!
