Finally. I keep saying if it was a white contestants in Manon's position, the narrative would have been "hidden talent/prodigy+quick learner". Their fans would have been on here like "she has so much potential but her immune system is weak and it makes it harder on her 🥺"

Manon was suppose to be the black girl who worked 10x timed harder for scraps, not the other way around

I don't get the beef Rashta supporters have with Navier (and somehow Heinrey too??). She hasn't done anything except ask her to leave her the fuck alone like 😭
rashta can mu*d*r Navier, heinery & sovieshu and I will help her hide the bodies #TheRemarriedEmpress

#Her manager just told the court she cried for hours after she heard “big foot” by Nicki Minaj 🤭
but her fans say she wasn’t bothered 😭

Navier is not even allowed to reject a mistress in her own house but you want her to challenge slavery, a system that is not even the responsibility of the royal family since it completely belongs to the church.
🍁Ruby ᡣ𐭩 retweeted
Allows slavery? Navier is the Empress not the Emperor. She doesn’t have the legislative authority to abolish slavery, that power belongs to the Emperor. Holding her responsible for laws she has no power over is less about accountability and more about finding a reason to hate her

Yeah so why should we accept a plot that villainize the raped slave girl over the ml who is worse than her? Over the empress that allows slavery while being painted in good light? She IS written unfairly, god forbid we criticize an hypocrite narrative that glorifies te rich

This is a valid question. Is it considered lying and misrepresentation and cause for discourse if the person requests the wedding package but was just going to dinner? I don’t think it would get the same reaction tbh. Which, to me, sounds like it’s about the money.

I would say wedding. What would I lie for? I’m literally already in the middle of getting the service. If I book the bridal party makeup and it’s not actually for a wedding, am I going to be accused of “lying” and “misrepresentation” to this extent or is it fine because I paid

Claiming the Eastern Empire is a nation "built on slavery" is a deliberate mischaracterization that tries to equate the fictional world's legal system with real-world chattel slavery. The Eastern Empire's economy does not run on slave labor, and they are not subjugating entire populations to build the nation's wealth.
Slavery in the Remarried Empress universe is strictly a punitive, judicial system. It is the ultimate criminal sentence for severe offenses like high treason or massive, unpayable debt. When someone commits a crime of that magnitude, they are stripped of their citizenship and reduced to penal servitude. It operates much more like a penal colony system—very similar to how Britain originally founded Australia to house convicts—rather than a system of generational chattel slavery. Rashta's father committed a crime and fled, leaving her trapped in that debt-bondage system. It is an incredibly cruel legal system, but it is a criminal sentence, not the economic foundation of the empire.
Holding Navier personally accountable for not dismantling a centuries-old judicial system completely ignores how the government in this universe actually works. Navier is the Empress Consort, an administrative role. She manages the palace budget, social diplomacy, and domestic affairs, but she does not have the legislative power to rewrite national laws or overturn the judicial system. That power belongs solely to the Emperor. Blaming Navier for not single-handedly abolishing penal servitude when she legally cannot do so is just a bad-faith excuse to hate her.
Finally, attacking the author for "never addressing this" shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what they are reading. The Remarried Empress is a fantasy soap opera focused on palace intrigue, interpersonal drama, and a messy divorce. It was never written to be a sweeping geopolitical manifesto on the ethics of the penal system. The author used this punitive system strictly as a plot device to give Rashta the lowest possible social standing, maximizing the contrast between her and Navier's extreme privilege. Trying to force a real-world moral crusade onto a romance web novel just to excuse Rashta's canonical crimes is a massive reach.
