On his return from CHOGM 2026 in St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Hon. @norbertmao, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, paid a courtesy call on the Uganda High Commission in London.
At the Mission, he linked up with Uganda’s tourism team, led by State Minister for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities Hon. Susan Nakawuki and Uganda Tourism Board CEO @JulzKagwa. The team had been in the UK for World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026, where they promoted Uganda’s tourism offering with a strong focus on sports tourism ahead of AFCON 2027.
Hosted by High Commissioner H.E. Nimisha Madhvani, the Minister was briefed on the outcomes of the WTM participation, the related investment engagements, including the tourism investment dinner at The Langham, and other ongoing tourism promotion efforts in the UK.

Hon.Norbert Mao @norbertmao, the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and DP President, earlier today paid a courtesy visit to the family of the late Christopher James Mabanja Kaziba, a former prominent DP grassroots mobiliser in Greater Mukono.
During the visit, Hon. Mao laid a wreath on the grave of the late party stalwart in honour of his contribution and service to the Democratic Party.
He was accompanied by the Deputy National Legal Adviser, Kenneth Nsubuga, and other party leaders and supporters from Buikwe and greater Mukono.

On the sidelines of CHOGM 2026 in St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon. @norbertmao representing the Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. @R_Nabbanja, held a bilateral meeting with Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in trade, investment and capacity building among others. The minister highlighted Uganda’s tremendous investment potential and the opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships between the two countries.
He was accompanied by H.E. Amb. Nimisha Madivani, Uganda’s High Commissioner to the UK, Amb. Elizabeth Musazi, Ambassador of Uganda to Cuba and Amb. Steven Sinaburya of the Uganda High Commission in the UK.
Both sides explored avenues for knowledge-sharing and joint initiatives to deepen bilateral ties within the Commonwealth framework.

Hon. @norbertmao, the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs is currently attending the Commonwealth Ministerial Meeting on Small States (CMMSS) at the American University of Antigua representing the Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. @adoniaayebare. The meeting, co-chaired by Antigua and Barbuda’s Foreign Minister E.P. Chet Greene and Maldives Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam, is taking place today under the theme of scaling up partnerships and investment for resilient small states.
The CMMSS forms part of the wider programme of ministerial and side meetings accompanying the 28th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM 2026), which is being held in St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, from 1–4 November under the theme “Accelerating Partnerships and Investment for a Prosperous Commonwealth.”
The minister is in Antigua as part of Uganda’s official delegation, which also includes High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, H.E Amb. Nimisha Madhvani. He earlier received Prime Minister @R_Nabbanja on her arrival for the meetings, representing H.E @KagutaMuseveni

Today 31st/October/2026,
The Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba Museveni, has issued guidance regarding the organisation’s endorsement exercise and ongoing activities as follows:
1.All endorsements in support of General Muhoozi Kainerugaba Museveni @mkainerugaba as the next President of Uganda shall henceforth be conducted strictly online through the PLU’s official website: plu.org.ug.
We are going to open offices at Regional and District level to facilitate the online registration, endorsements and issuing Patriotic Cadre(PC) numbers.
2. We had started receiving back fully filled endorsement books. I therefore urge all our endorsement officers/Coordinators to collect the books from Subcounties and safely deliver them back to the Secretariat by 30th of November 2026 for compilation.
That also implies that we have stopped issuing endorsement books!
3. PLU will continue conducting its community Baraza's with a renewed focus on the Anti-corruption campaign, Medical camps and the provision of Legal guidance to members of the public.
4. The organisation will officially commence the establishment and opening of PLU offices in all regions and districts across the country to strengthen its presence and improve service delivery at the grassroots level.
All PLU Coordinators and stakeholders are therefore urged to take note of these changes and ensure compliance in accordance with the Chairman’s guidance.

The @IGGUganda and @norbertmao are not at odds. From the beginning of the investigations we required everyone concerned to cooperate fully with the @IGGUganda. We shall comply with the directives of the @IGGUganda. If the Minister of Justice undermines the @IGGUganda then who will respect it?
UPDATE: @URSBHQ has engaged @Parliament_Ug's COSASE committee on governance, accountability and service delivery as the @IGGUganda and Justice Minister @NorbertMao remain at odds over the interdiction of four senior URSB officials over alleged corruption and mismanagement.
