KSH 11 Billion! That number is no pocket change. That money could equip hospitals with lifesaving machines and medicine, and hire and pay thousands of healthcare workers for years. I believe in @_shakenya. I believe in Universal Healthcare. However, it is painful when citizens’ salaries are deducted to support social health programs, yet Kenyans still suffer due to mismanagement, system weaknesses, and corruption risks.
Whether paid out or intercepted, the fraudulent attempt itself exposes serious loopholes that must be urgently sealed. I am calling on the CS for Health, @HonAdenDuale, to release full SHA payment data. From ghost patients to fake hospitals, we must expose leakages, flag fraud, and ensure public funds are protected. Our healthcare system is in critical condition. It needs urgent CPR. That CPR is transparency and accountability.
I support the good the government is doing, but I will equally call out the failures. Accountability is not opposition, it is leadership. As leaders, we must work for Kenyans and protect the trust they have placed in us above all else. SHA must work. And it will only work if trust, transparency, and consequences go hand in hand.

Single Business Permit
Meetimg at Hotel Sapphire Mombasa @KmpdcOfficial has cautioned the County Government Of Mombasa against harassing Hospitals and doctors about Single Business Permit.
Hospitals and doctors have already paid for their licences to Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists' Council for their individual and institutional licences.
There have been numerous court orders barring County Councils, Municipal Councils and County Governments from imposing Single Bisiness permits on regulates professions including doctora, advocates and others. The latest one is from Migori.
@RuphaKenya has a stay order on all County Governments from imposing SBP.
KMA got a judgement against County Government of nairobi in 2022 on SBP. The Unified Business Permit should be itemized to exclide SBP for health facilities.
It is unfortunate that County Governments harass private health facilities and individual doctors yet the County Health Facilities were waived from paying for the KMPDC licence during COVID. They should pay. The Punlic County health facilities alaondo not pay SBP to the County Government.
Advice to doctors and health facilities
1. Print the KMA Advisory on SBP
2. Print the KMPDC advisory on SBP
3. Print the RUPHA advisory on SBP
4. Print the various jidgements on SBP
5. Show this to anynperaon purporting to be a county official
6. Should a Unified Business Licence be asked for, ask for a breakdown and do not pay for SBP
7. If the officials still think yiu have a case, ask for a demand note and send a copy to KMA
