A wise fella once said "Are you fella? Do you support Ukraine? Yes, good. Everything else is irrelevant concerning what you do on the bird app. If someone tells you what you are doing is not "NAFO enough", well as long you support Ukraine, don't listen to them. It's that simple."

If this is true (speculative), it’s telling.
The key strategy Ukraine inflicted (targeting energy) is the one Trump demanded be stopped.
The General Staff Has Halted the Offensive in Donbas
According to reports, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov has halted the offensive in Donbas because a significant portion of the fuel reserves prepared for the autumn campaign will be sent to Moscow. The Kremlin reportedly made this decision immediately after the strike on the Kapotnya oil refinery.
These reserves had been accumulated for the second stage of the operation. Now there is unlikely to be enough fuel even to supply positions and carry out individual attacks. There is no longer enough fuel to move large formations forward.
Under this account, Gerasimov’s order marks the end of the offensive campaign and a transition to the defensive. Local assaults will continue so that the General Staff can report advances and color in new areas on its maps. However, capturing Kramatorsk and Sloviansk is impossible with the current level of supplies. Hopes of reaching the borders of the DPR by the end of 2026 have disappeared, and even 2027 now appears out of reach.
The situation is reportedly worst in the Kramatorsk–Sloviansk sector. Russian forces have lost the initiative east of Sviatohirsk and were pushed back toward Zherebets, causing the northern encirclement effort around the urban area to stall.
Farther south, the army has become bogged down near Kostiantynivka and has still failed to reach the positions from which a full-scale offensive on Kramatorsk could begin.

You will be shocked, shocked to discover that Russia's Storm-1516 influence operation has MAGA accounts, some of which have now been suspended by X. Others are still active, with a collective 2.7 million followers. See David's thread below. More on Storm-1516 and its role in Russian election interference in the U.S. in 2024: blogs.microsoft.com/on-the-i…

On behalf of the British people, I would like to apologise for the slave trade. I am sorry we were the first great power in history to turn its guns on it. I am sorry it cost us around 2,000 sailors to free 150,000 people they would never meet. I am sorry the rest of the world took so long to follow.
Slavery did not begin with Britain. It is as old as civilisation. Babylon wrote it into law. Rome built an empire on it. The Vikings sold Englishmen through the slave market at Dublin. In 1625 Barbary corsairs took 60 men, women and children out of a Cornish church; by 1640 Parliament was told 3,000 to 5,000 English people were held in Algiers alone.
Every great power of the age took part in the Atlantic trade. Portugal and Spain for a century before an English ship did. Then the Dutch, the French — and the British, who in the eighteenth century carried more than anyone. That is the record. It is not disputed here.
Then a nation turned on the trade that had made it rich.
Wilberforce's bill was beaten year after year. On 25 March 1807 it passed. Then Britain did the part the critics never mention — it sent the Royal Navy to enforce it. The West Africa Squadron sailed in 1808, two ships for 3,000 miles of coast, and hunted slavers for nearly sixty years. Britain paid Spain and Portugal to open their ships to search. HMS Black Joke ran down the slaver El Almirante in 1829 and found 466 people in her hold.
Around 2,000 British sailors died doing it — most of fever, to free people they would never meet. 1,600 slave ships seized. 150,000 Africans set free.
In 1833 Parliament borrowed £20 million to end slavery across the Empire. The debt was not finally redeemed until 2015. The United States needed a civil war. Cuba held slaves until 1886. Brazil until 1888 — eighty-one years after Westminster voted.
Yes, we took part in the trade. Every power of the age did. None of them fought it like we did.
So yes. I will apologise. I am sorry it cost us so much. I am sorry the rest of the world took so long to follow.
That is not something you apologise for. That is something you teach.

Russia has officially withdrawn from the European Convention for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. The decision took effect on November 1.
As the Council of Europe’s press service explained, the relevant committee can no longer conduct independent inspections of Russian places of deprivation of liberty such as prisons, penal colonies, pre-trial detention centers, psychiatric institutions, and the like.
Russia maintained a strict policy of refusing to authorize the public release of the CPT's findings; out of the 30 visits, Moscow permitted the publication of only four reports.
Following its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Russia effectively blocked further CPT inspections and refused to cooperate with the committee regarding allegations of torture.

So, why didn't RU seek UN approval for their actions, if they really thought a "massacre" happened? Why, when they went to the ECHR in 2021, did they just claim abuses happened and why did they then abandoned their case? Why not take it up with the ICJ?

“The Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the state intelligence agency must be cleansed of Russian influence." — Slobodan Georgiev, News Director at Nova S TV.
Serbia’s own journalists are saying now what Ukraine knew all along: the Russian Orthodox Church isn’t about faith—it’s a front for the FSB and Kremlin spying.
With Vucic out of power, it’s clear: to truly be free, Serbia has to clean house and strip Russian influence out of both its secret service and its church.
“And the Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church, that is, the continuity—why are they connected?
They are connected to the Kremlin, to the FSB, the KGB, the Okhrana, and so on. If we want the recovery of this country, as these children have been talking about all this time, if we want—if the three of us are alive in 20 years—not to be talking about it again, God forbid, "Here, here, another revolution again"—this, the BIA and the Synod must be cleansed of Russian influence. The Church is very important. It is the foundation of culture in Serbia, meaning the culture and life of Serbia is the church. If that, if that is controlled by the Russians from Lubyanka or whatever that place is called where that—that—that KGB guy lives... That's it, I mean, that's terrible. The BIA must, like RTS, be completely dismantled, disrupted.” Slobodan Georgiev said.

Xi didn't cancel anything because nothing had been agreed. According to Steinmeier, Xi seemed surprised/irritated when asked about a three-way summit on Ukraine and asked where such rumours had come from. He called the war a "European conflict" and said Europeans need to take part in the negotiations. China's official statement after the 30 October talks doesn't mention a trilateral at all. So the evidence is a German president's account of a conversation, plus his reading of Xi's face. Even the outlets reporting it can't agree whether that face showed surprise or irritation.
However, 1/

He urged Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz to leave the governing coalition.
The aim was a Polish government subordinate to Washington.
Europe must stand united and defend its sovereignty.
The damage Trump is doing to the transatlantic alliance will be irreparable.
This is a disgrace.
