The best team in MLB is on pace for 95 wins. The last year without a 100-win team was 2014.
Similarly, the last time the top run differential in baseball was less than +231 was ... 2014. It's barely half that at the moment.
All of which is to say: A year after a 90-win wild card team faced an 86-win wild card team in the World Series, the 2024 championship looks as up for grabs as it's been in a long time.
