From GS via BBG: - Hedge funds have loaded up on shorts, pushing bearish bets near a 5-year high and raising the risk of a sharp squeeze. - Short/Buy ratio hit ~5x across global equities, and short leverage is now at 99th percentile over the past 5 years. What's the setup?

This conversation between @philrosenn and @MebFaber was so good. Meb was on 🔥
The AI boom is still ripping but a handful of undervalued corners of the market look set to outperform. I sat down with @MebFaber to unpack the "bear market in diversification," the global buyback boom, the risks of the tech trade, why he's bullish on non-US stocks, and building a new portfolio from scratch today. Meb is a true student of history. He's among the best of the best in markets. Remembering our friend @JBoorman today. He passed away six years ago. 🙏 ❤️ 😇
Jon Boorman's final words: 1) I’ve become very stoical in recent years which has made this much easier to process. I’ve had an absolutely glorious life. I sometimes feel I’ve had two or three.

Jon was one of the best. He is greatly missed but not forgotten. @JBoorman
Thinking today of @JBoorman, a friend of mine and of many in this community, who passed away six years ago today.

Visa and Mastercard probably keep hitting new all-time highs because the consumer is dead and no one can afford to buy anything.

Good reminder that the number of households with incomes of $150k or more have moved from 5% to 28% the past 60 years.

As someone who tries to only fly United anymore because they have Starlink, has Starlink in my house, and has a Starlini mini, I don't think any of this $SPCX news is very surprising.

One of the big stories from October (so far) is how breadth has gotten significantly better. S&P 500 A/D line has been soaring the past few weeks, but it is now nearing a big level. Should it eventually get above this line (I think it will), new highs on the S&P 500 won't be far behind.

Four years ago right now I wrote why we likely just made a major bottom and the bear market was over. We've been bullish ever since and still think the 🌊 isn't done yet. This bullish call was mocked for nearly two years. carsongroup.com/insights/blo…
