Matt Gilhool has really exceeded my expectations so far.
Granted, we didn't really know what to expect since he redshirted last year at LSU, but he really looks like he belongs.
Shouldn't be too surprised, though, to be honest — he was in fact a four-star recruit.
Breath of fresh air to know that a multi-million dollar NIL grab isn’t this team’s only hope to win games.
Sure, guys like Rechsteiner and Schutt will usually have to step up, but Casey Alexander has a true system that allows anyone to score. At any point.
PFF's top-rated offensive player in Saturday's game at Arizona State?
Freshman Oliver Miller.
Miller was on the field for only 18 of K-State's 75 offensive snaps. Definitely something to chew on after the ground game's struggles.
23% (65 of 278) of K-State's total yards came on its first drive.
After the opening drive, K-State had 12 drives that resulted in only 213 yards.
So, throw out the opening drive, and K-State averaged only 17.7 yards per drive in Tempe.
That won't win you games.
K-State QB Jacob Knuth on Avery Johnson:
"There's not a lot of words that can describe me and Avery's relationship. I got his back no matter what, and today, him having my back meant a lot to me and the team, just the way he led, even though he wasn't on the field."
Hindsight is always 20-20, but the fact of the matter is that this game completely flipped and took an absolute 180 after the failed 4th and 12
Poor execution by the players. Confusing playcalling by the coaches.
Just a forgetful day all around in Tempe.
In my humble opinion, one of the most entertaining parts of this game has been watching planes fly directly over the stadium as they prepare to land at the airport behind the press box.
Enjoy the little things.
Congratulations to K-State and Arizona State for putting together what feels like the longest first half in the history of football.
