The most expensive component of a commercial electric vehicle is the battery ($25k-175k). It's also the most vulnerable. Without protection for degradation, fleet operators absorb the risk themselves, financing gets more expensive, and residual values get marked down.
DLP Labs' developed a Battery Service Contract & Protection Protocol to extend battery life, lower the cost of capital, and increase residual value.
We've kicked off pilots with fleets in the public and private sector, and we're building on Palantir Foundry to underwrite battery risk in real time.
Welcome to the Palantir Startup Fellowship Cohort #002.

Odds of Miami becoming a true T1 city for talent and tech just skyrocketed
Hedge-fund titan Ken Griffin is donating $2 billion to start a Carnegie Mellon University campus in Miami, part of the largest-ever individual gift toward higher education on.wsj.com/4AGpvMq

An obvious win tor Miami and in many ways at the expense of Chicago and NYC - I think this is obvious, but worth saying: when companies relocate or build major new hubs, the impact goes far beyond employees, taxes and direct economic activity.
Civic investment and philanthropy follow too. Those dollars don’t necessarily double when a company expands elsewhere - they increasingly get shared or redirected.
$2 billion of Ken Griffin’s $3 billion gift will build Carnegie Mellon’s new Miami campus. That is an enormous win for Miami - and a reminder of the broader opportunity cost for places like Chicago and New York when corporate gravity shifts elsewhere.
Today, Carnegie Mellon University and Ken Griffin, founder and CEO of Citadel and founder of Griffin Catalyst, announced a historic $3 billion gift to elevate Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh and launch Carnegie Mellon University Miami. #CMUMiami

bullish defense tech and general B2G in florida
It’s no secret that I’m bullish on Florida as a federalist project that’s attracting capital and businesses from across the country. It’s an extraordinary place to live and build.
West Palm Beach is the epitome of this kind of growth—and Stephen Ross and team are building a truly dynamic city and ecosystem. It’s been an incredible story of growth in America and we’re excited to become a larger part of it.

Our city is the city in the US that best embodies the American dream and spirit of working hard, risking capital and leaning into innovation.

Miami first.
For everyone who says Miami doesn’t have the tech,
the founders,
the talent,
the discipline,
or the capital—
Carta’s data tells a different story.
Early-stage momentum is already here.
What’s missing isn’t belief.
It’s time.
We don’t have the compounding advantage of 70 years of national-imperative investment like Silicon Valley or Cambridge.
Yet.
Gradually.
Then suddenly.

Whats the best breakdown of what we would get with market structure regulation? Feel like @laurashin has covered this, but there’s so much to unpack
1. What role do foundations play? Do we need them?
2. Role of token buy backs via protocol revenue
3. Coinlsit ICOs for US citizens
I've never been more bullish about clear rules for crypto. It’s obvious that market structure is a freight train that's left the station.
But that hasn't stopped the big banks from coming for another handout - this time paid by your crypto rewards. They want to undo your right under the GENIUS Act law to earn USDC rewards. Don't let them.
Banks want to ban rewards to maintain their monopoly, and we're making sure the Senate knows bailing out the big banks at the expense of the American consumer is not ok.
High interest saving accounts and money market will eventually need to adopt defi rails to keep up with USDC/coinbase
