🐟Sound of the sea - Full animated short film🐟 Putting this up on twitter as well! This was a short film made made in three months on and off. I wanted to prove to myself that I could pull off a small project in a short amount of time, and I'm pretty proud of what came out!

Seeing the average person's reaction to animation prices explains a lot about why the industry's been struggling. Disinterested parties (including animation producers) think that if 1 second of movement costs $300, then 10 minutes must cost $150,000. Next time you see a 2D show, look closely. Most shows are only moving for a fraction of the runtime. We have people who don't know anything about directing and budgeting an animation taking control of productions, and being shocked when they learn how much it costs. They don't dig any any deeper to learn the countless ways people have been doing this medium affordably for decades, and they don't want to know

To give you the umpteenth indicator on how much the Wii U dropped the ball, Ubisoft couldn't even convince themselves to keep making Just Dance games for it... ...while the original Wii got all the way up to Just Dance 2020.
Most recently, the Switch and Switch 2. The Wii U was objectively better in so many ways—going on 10 years since the Switch launched, booting one up is a depressing experience. Black or white, no MiiVerse, the overall silence is so oppressive.

this is corny as hell but one of the best parts of being alive to me is that there are so many movies. i want to live as long as i can so i can keep seeing more movies

go to each other's homes. this is 75% of hanging out. watch the simpsons seasons 3-7. play a board game. make some cheap food. talk, gossip, bring your craft project over or your sketchbook. watch a movie together. go on a walk. make prank calls. make popcorn for christ's sake.
We CANNOT even afford hobbies. We CANNOT afford to go out with friends. We CANNOT afford to exist anywhere outside our homes. They then call it a mental health crisis. It's not. It's an affordability crisis.

There's a whole universe of weird and fascinating movies out there. We can't even grasp it. Humanity does not need slop.

If someone keeps telling you "you better adapt or else you will get left behind" for 4 year straight, it really comes off more like they're trying to convince themselves rather than trying to warn you. Especially when the "skill" is just typing a sentence to ask for something.
