Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg doesn't hold back when ripping Lakers' Luka Doncic si.com/nba/lakers/onsi/warri…

My 3 takeaways from an impressive season-opening win for the new-look Lakers si.com/nba/lakers/onsi/3-maj…

Walker Kessler’s 26 points against Golden State were the most by any player without a missed field goal in an NBA season opener, surpassing Jarrett Allen’s 25 in 2021, via Lakers PR His 12 made field goals without a miss were the most by a Laker since Wilt Chamberlain in 1969.

Lakers defeated the Warriors 127-105 tonight, posting their 3rd-highest scoring season opener in franchise history and 3rd-largest opening-night win since 1972-73, via Lakers PR

JJ Redick on Jake LaRavia's impact: “I saw him being himself. Again, when he's shooting with confidence and making catch and shoot threes, that's an added bonus. I talked about this I think last week, we have a group of guys that do a lot of things to impact winning that don't necessarily show up in the box score and certainly won't show up in a highlight reel on Instagram. He's a winning player.”

JJ Redick on Lakers guard Luka Doncic’s half-court shot: “You guys all record his pregame shooting, so you know that he loves half-court shots. We have a silly fine system, so it's if you're a minute late to film, you're two minutes late to the bus, $500 of your personal cash goes in that pot and we shoot for it every shootaround. I think, by far, Luka has won the most. I know last year he had. He's yet to win it this year, but when he shoots a half-court shot, especially when he's set like that, there's no defender in front of him, you almost expect it to go in. I know for me, even when I was his teammate with the Mavs, I lost a lot of money to him. So, I expect it to go in.”

JJ Redick on Walker Kessler’s debut with the Lakers: “Whether he had played for the last year and a half or not, I think it's a big deal when it's your first game as a Laker. We've had conversations. He understands what this is and the pressures that come with it. I think it was a good opening statement for him."

Seriously hope that is just an ankle tweak for Jake LaRavia...
