💡WEEK 4 | SPOTLIGHT REPORT Rylee Smith @Rylee_smith8 Smoky Mountain High School @SMHSMustangsFB RB 5'10 210 Lbs. C/O 2027 Physical back with natural pad level, strong lower-body drive, and the ability to stay productive through contact. He squares defenders up well, keeps his base underneath him, and consistently plays with strength and balance through tackle attempts. There is a controlled tempo to his work behind the line of scrimmage, allowing him to stay patient and let the blocking picture develop. He understands when to bounce, bend, or bang the run based on how the front unfolds, but maintains a clear north-south mentality once the crease presents itself. At :28, he stays tight behind pulling linemen before accelerating through the opening and finishing through contact for the touchdown. At :58, his open-field vision and short-area twitch show up as he identifies the safety and makes him miss without losing momentum. He accelerates well through the second level, consistently initiates contact, and regularly finishes runs falling forward. His competitive toughness also shows in the red zone, where he embraces contact and fights for extra yardage. At 1:51, he creates when the designed track collapses, recognizing the closed path and bouncing outside with speed. Physicality is the foundation of his game, but his tempo, vision, and run-path awareness give him multiple ways to be productive.
