MaWhoo granted protection order against Cyan Boujee after threats escalate following Kagiso Lerutla love triangle drama Amapiano singer MaWhoo, whose real name is Thandeka Nontobeko Ngema, has obtained a protection order against DJ and social media personality Cyan Boujee, real name Honour Zuma, following a public fallout that escalated from social media exchanges to threats of physical violence. The court action comes weeks after the two entertainers became embroiled in a bitter public dispute over their alleged romantic links to Ekurhuleni City Manager Kagiso Lerutla. MaWhoo approached the Randburg Magistrate's Court seeking protection against Cyan after claiming that the DJ's threats and continued harassment had left her concerned for her safety. The protection order was granted in MaWhoo's favour. The dispute began around October 18, when MaWhoo and Cyan started exchanging pointed messages on Instagram Stories. MaWhoo posted a screenshot of a message from a man which read: “My twin! You believe a mad lady over me. I really be having people mad for years.” Cyan responded with a series of posts, including: “My name alone will ruin a B’s whole day.” The exchange intensified after MaWhoo claimed that a man had bought her three properties in cash, with the title deeds registered in her name. She appeared to take a swipe at Cyan by insisting that her properties were not rented. Cyan responded with a poolside lifestyle post captioned: “You own the houses on IG, I own the view in real life.” She also used MaWhoo's music in a video seemingly directed at the singer, further fuelling speculation that the two were involved with the same man. Although neither woman initially named the man, social media users linked the dispute to Kagiso Lerutla, who has been at the centre of controversy surrounding Ekurhuleni's municipal administration. The online exchanges eventually moved beyond social media jabs, with Cyan making statements about physically confronting MaWhoo. In a video circulated on social media, Cyan threatened to beat up the singer if they were booked to perform at the same event. She reportedly told MaWhoo that she would have to address her as “Sesi” while receiving a beating. MaWhoo's sister, Amahle, also became involved in the dispute. Following the backlash, Cyan announced that she was stepping away from social media. In a statement shared on Instagram, she said: “I've worked incredibly hard on myself as a person, and I'm disappointed that I allowed one situation to bring out a version of myself I've been trying to outgrow.” She added: “I'm choosing to step away from social media for a little while to reflect, grow and focus on the things that truly matter to me.” The dispute also brought renewed attention to Lerutla, whose name has previously featured in discussions surrounding the Ekurhuleni municipality and investigations into alleged corruption. In April 2026, the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) dismissed social media claims that it had expanded its investigation into Lerutla to include the financial affairs and assets of influencers, including MaWhoo and Cyan. In a statement addressing the claims, the SIU said: “The SIU does not target people, nor do we investigate people. We investigate procurement processes in State Institutions and all levels of government departments, and it's through these processes that we find people who are responsible. In simple terms, we follow the money, and the money leads us to people.” The unit further explained that it does not independently initiate investigations, but assesses allegations and submits motivations for presidential proclamations authorising investigations. buzzlifenews.com

DIRCO responds after Makhadzi claims she is being held hostage in Botswana over passport and belongings The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) says it is attending to a matter involving award-winning South African singer Makhadzi, who claims she has been unable to leave Botswana after her passport, vehicle and personal belongings were allegedly taken. DIRCO spokesperson Clayson Monyela confirmed that the department was aware of the situation, responding to the concerns raised publicly on social media. "We are attending to this matter. An update will be provided," Monyela said. Monyela's response comes after the singer shared a video on social media detailing what she described as a frightening ordeal in the neighbouring country. Makhadzi, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, alleges that the incident happened while she was performing at an event. She claims her road manager alerted her to a group of men waiting outside, prompting her to leave the stage and investigate. She alleges that two men approached her, demanded her passport and attempted to take control of her vehicle. The singer questioned their authority, saying they were not wearing police uniforms and had not produced identification, a warrant or a court order. The dispute reportedly involves Botswana-based entertainment promoter Gilbert 'PP Wa Pimp' Seagile, who has previously worked with the singer on her business dealings and bookings in Botswana. The disagreement is linked to an alleged previous financial dispute involving P50,000 (approximately R60,582), as well as arrangements for a proposed Makhadzi One Woman Show in Botswana. Seagile is a prominent figure in Botswana's entertainment industry and was recently elected chairman of the Association of Botswana Night Clubs and Bars (ABONIC), where he leads an executive committee representing the country's nightlife, entertainment and hospitality sectors. In 2023, his company, Gilbert Promotions, was appointed to handle Makhadzi's business dealings in Botswana following her separation from Open Mic Productions. buzzlifenews.com

My mother taught me that charity begins at home. But she also taught me that it does not end there.” The true meaning of kindness is not only found in how we care for our own families, but in how we extend that same love, compassion, and generosity to others, especially those who have no one to turn to. ❤️ 🇿🇼🇿🇦 #AuxilliaMnangagwa #angelofHopeFoundation #collenmashawanafoundation
