That’s just retail pharmacy!
US hospitals can have multiple entire pharmacy departments.
The most common are:
inpatient pharmacy
Outpatient pharmacy
Specialty pharmacy
Oncology Infusion pharmacy
Sterile compounding pharmacy.
And don’t even get me started on pharmaceutical distribution. The American pharmaceutical supply chain is dominated by THREE corporations: McKesson, Cardinal Health, and Cencora (formerly AmerisourceBergen). Together, they control 95% of the U.S. pharmaceutical wholesale distribution market.
