According to a statement he provided to a journalist over the phone, he and Tahsif Sauri had dinner at a restaurant in Uttara, where they stayed until 11:30 PM. Around midnight, Deep left to head home. Deep was a business partner of Tahsif; when asked if there were any business-related complications between them, he replied in the negative. He claims that after returning home that night, he tried calling Tahsif, but the phone was switched off. If he left a restaurant in Uttara at midnight, it should have taken, at most, half an hour to reach his home in Mohammadpur. CCTV footage from the restaurant where they dined, as well as footage from his own residence, should be obtained. Even if there is no CCTV at his home, checking his cell phone location data at that time would reveal whether he is telling the truth or lying. If they were indeed at a restaurant in Uttara, there are several routes to reach Mohammadpur. The first route is via the Beri Bandh (embankment road), passing through Mirpur-1 and Shyamoli to reach Mohammadpur. The Turag River lies just beyond the Beri Bandh—the very place where Tahsif’s body was discovered. A second route involves taking the Airport Road from Uttara, passing in front of the Radisson hotel toward Bijoy Sarani, and then continuing to Mohammadpur. A third possible route is from Uttara, along the Airport Road, turning right past the airport, and traveling through Kochukhet toward Mirpur-10, then passing in front of Suhrawardy Hospital to reach Mohammadpur. Among these three, the first route is the most likely. Deep left the restaurant at midnight. At 1:30 AM, a message was sent from Tahsif’s phone to his mother, saying, "Mom, I’m on my way." Dwip claims that upon reaching home, he tried to notify Tahsif of his arrival, but found Tahsif’s phone switched off. Regardless of the route taken from Uttara to Mohammadpur, the journey should not take more than half an hour at midnight. According to Dwip, Tahsif’s phone was switched off at 12:30 AM—yet a message was sent from that same phone to his mother at 1:30 AM. There is a clear discrepancy regarding the timeline. If the k!ller had been lying in wait outside the restaurant, they should have been captured on the restaurant’s CCTV footage. When the two left the restaurant, they would have done so together—there is usually some form of parting ritual—so there should be footage of them together. If they both headed in the same direction, it implies they remained together for some time afterward. This suggests the killer did not act alone; there were others involved who followed them from the restaurant—or another specific location—before carrying out the murder. The victim was clearly k!lled by strangulation. The mur*der took place in a secluded area, away from any human presence. The victim would certainly not have gone to such a desolate place alone after midnight; he must have been lured there somehow. My primary suspect in this mur*der is the individual identified as his junior friend, Dwip. A thorough investigation into him should reveal the true mystery behind the k!ll!ng.
