For years, Trita Parsi positioned himself as a representative of Iranian Americans. Critics counter that he has functioned as one of the Islamic Republic’s key voices in Washington.
Reports now indicate the State Department has opened a process that could result in the loss of his green card and possible removal from the U.S.
• NIAC was launched as a community group, but internal records have long fueled concerns about regime links.
• He is said to have prepared intelligence-style reports for a regime-linked company, tracking opposition groups and pro-Israel activity in D.C.
• A 2012 federal court observed that his work was “not inconsistent with advocating for the regime.”
• His brother is alleged to have worked within the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s overseas influence network and was removed in 2025 after the connection became public.
While Iranians inside the country risked death and imprisonment demanding freedom, he has been accused of advancing the regime’s interests abroad.
If the claims hold, long-delayed accountability is warranted.

In May and June, I exposed how Iranian operative and alleged Iranian regime lobbyist Trita Parsi was in communication with White House officials who were leaking to him about the Iran war. @tparsi
Now, months later, it appears someone is leaking situation room meetings to Trita Parsi.
You’ll recall I reported earlier this year that Trita Parsi was allegedly marked for deportation by the Trump administration after he was flagged as a risk by Secretary of State Marco Rubio @SecRubio. This was even confirmed to me in May by a State Department official.

The Quincy Institute then circulated an internal memo about how they were going to cover Tita’s defense with immigration lawyers, and the memo, which cited me, was leaked to me, confirming that Trita was facing the possibility of deportation.

Trita is not a US citizen. He has Iranian and Swedish citizenship. Multiple GOP Senators have called for Trita to be investigated as an alleged lobbyist for the Iranian regime. In 2020, Senators @tedcruz, @SenTomCotton, and then Senator @GovBraun Mike Braun, who is the current Governor of Indiana, called on the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) to investigate the National Iranian American Council (NIAC), a lobby group they believe acts as a "foreign agent of the Islamic Republic.”
Trita likely was going to be deported, until he and his colleagues at Quincy allegedly called in a favor to a very senior official at the White House.
Any wild guesses who that is? 🤔
Now, Trita has not been deported, and he is suggesting that highly private information from the Situation Room is being leaked to him.
@SecRubio this would be the perfect time before the Democrats take over in January for you to revoke Trita Parsi’s visa and have him removed from our country.
Again, I flagged all of this for the WH over 6 months ago.
It won’t end well.

This headline says everything about mainstream media and their bias. @AFP should be ashamed. Reza Pahlavi is supported by tens of millions of Iranians who rose up across 31 provinces. He is the unquestioned leader of the democratic opposition. Yes not everyone supports him - but a huge coalition do - left and right, republican and monarchist. It is bizarre large sections of the western media feel the need to define him by his father alone. And the critics of the prize are mainly a small faction of ultra leftists. Shameful journalism.
