Polls for the Socorro ISD Proposition A Election will be open Tuesday, November 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
27 Election Day voting locations are available, including:

🏡 How would Proposition A affect Socorro ISD homeowners age 65 and older?
For homeowners who have applied for and received the Over-65 Homestead Exemption, school property taxes are frozen. Prop A would not increase taxes above that frozen amount, as long as no significant improvements are made to the home.

Proposition A would provide $49.2 million in additional annual revenue for teacher and staff compensation, student programs, student devices, safety and security, HVAC improvements, and Bus Replacements.

💻 Socorro ISD maintains 41,500 student devices that require regular updates and replacement.
Older devices become harder to update, and keeping them in circulation longer can lead to increased downtime, maintenance costs and reduced instructional efficiency.
Proposition A includes $8 million for student devices, including funding to replace devices that are past their useful life.
