Our nation is still faced with the ongoing impact of systemic racism on Black people. Currently, there are people in this country trying to do away with opportunities we’ve earned and deserve as it relates to diversity, equity, inclusion. This is not an ask for a handout but call for respect and fair treatment for Black people across our country.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in America, and today, it celebrates freedom, achievement, education, and self-advancement in the Black community. Properly honoring Juneteenth as a national holiday celebrates a success for all of America!
