One thing people are not talking about is what a crappy job Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) did as chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), the Senate Republicansâ campaign arm, for the 2026 election cycle. When I saw he was the one picked, I knew we were going have problems. We sure did.

I see people mentioning DeSantis, Rubio, Vance etc in 2028.
Guess you all learned nothing from Tuesday.
We will either get an America First candidate through the GOP Primary or you can get used to losing.
We arenât playing games any longer.

We need your help! Letâs make the change SC desperately needs!
If you are a member of an independent conservative group in this state, please reach out to your leadership and get them in touch with me or vice versa. It is time we unify all the small groups and at least have the leadership communicating so that we can fix the General Assembly.
We are in the process right now of trying to get some of the larger groups to come together so that the coalition goes from the 5,000 we saw Tuesday night to 50,000 in 2028. Lots of news will be coming as I get the pieces in place for the future.
As I said many times 11/3 was merely the kickoff.

Here, here! I for one am glad to see some of the newcomers understanding. The thing is here, we have options, numerous, better options. We just have to get them in office replacing the RINOs.
The write in was less about Ralph as an individual and more about the larger scale. He was the best option for the conservative voter. He was the only option. How he was dismantled by DC was and is the epitome of everything South Carolinians despise about politics.
We didnât put our best foot forward, but we did stand up. Now we have to build and take some of these state seats back in the primaries so we donât lose them to Dems.
I donât blame a single Write-In Ralph voter for yesterdayâs results. In fact, I now have more respect for their principled stance than I do my own.
Almost 100,000 people who voted for Alan Wilson did not vote for Darline Graham. The same holds true for the other Republican candidates running for governor, AG, treasurer, comptroller, and agriculture & education secretaries.
Being from a blue state, Iâve been holding my nose in the voting booth for so long that I didnât understand why people would cast a protest vote with so much at stake. Micah Caskeyâs loss underscores the message: South Carolina voters are done with the neocon, go along to get along, do nothing Republicans and RINOs in the statehouse.
I respect those protest voters, because theyâre right: itâs the only way to teach the SCGOP a lesson. Whether or not they learn it is a different story. I hope they do.
Thank you to my friend @MadMike118, who respectfully engaged in thoughtful conversations about the senate race. Please be patient with me, Iâm learning.
God bless the great state of South Carolina.

The SC GOP and its establishment needs to be burned to the ground and rebuilt.
Yall wanted to let out of staters and outside money decide our primary? Congrats now youâre represented by a transplant who canât even say "South Carolina" properly. Yall wanted to govern liberally while having an R next to your name? Congrats now youâre represented by a leftist who thinks trans kids are a thing.
Weak, spineless, corrupt. Will do anything except their job. South Carolina deserves better!

South Carolina flipped to the Democrats because Trump endorsed a Republican candidate who had no qualifications, no experience, no political skills, no resume at all, and whose only pitch to the voters was "I'm the sister of Lindsay Graham." Just a staggeringly idiotic strategy that failed exactly as any reasonable person knew that it would.

Republicans suffered their worst losses in more than 60 years up and down the ballot last night because national Republicans abandoned the America First platform and the promises that delivered our 2024 victories.
No new wars. Full release of the Epstein files. Putting our countryâs needs ahead of every other nationâs. The neocons President Trump campaigned against in 2015 failed us again.
Nothing we did at the local level could overcome this national environmentâan environment shaped in large part by a pointless war in Iran. National Republicans defended that war despite the fact that we are losing it and fell into an escalation trap. The war is being fought on behalf of another country, and it rests on the same recycled claim that Iran is âtwo weeks from a nuclear weaponâ that we have heard for twenty years.
My heart is broken for the many local Republicans who were principled public servants and still lost because of poor governance from the national party. It is painful to watch good people who did everything within their control get punished for decisions made far above them. God had other plans.
I will have more to say in the coming days. We need a hard family conversation about the soul of the Republican Party. For now I am still heartbroken and angry, still trying to make sense of it all.
I remain committed to fighting harder than ever to retire the old, broken Republican Party and rebuild one that actually delivers on what 2016 and 2024 promised: a nationalist-populist America First agenda paired with a clear commitment to restoring Christian values at every level of government.
Despite losing some of my closest friends in office last night and watching two socialists win seats on Dorchester County Council, there was one bright spot. My wife, Meredith Westfall, became the youngest elected official in South Carolinaâs Lowcountry at age 31. She won every precinct in her school board districtâa true mandate from our neighbors. She is exactly the kind of leader who can help build the coalitions of the future, and I know she will make our community, our school district, and Dorchester County families proud. Thank you for trusting her with this responsibility. We do not take it lightly.
In the months ahead, local and state leadership in the Republican Party will change. I will spend the next few weeks deciding where I can make the greatest difference inside the South Carolina Republican Party. For now, my heart is still broken.

Let this be a lesson to @realDonaldTrump and @SCGOP: If you ram a candidate down our throats whom voters didnât want to begin with, donât be surprised when it backfires.
Darline was a horrible choice, and whoever was responsible for pushing her candidacy should be held accountable. Itâs time for party leadership to start listening to the voters instead of ignoring us and making decisions based on what THEY want.
You work for the people, not the other way around. Stop treating voters like theyâre obligated to fall in line simply because you have an âRâ next to someoneâs name.
We told you so and yet you called us crazy. Look whoâs crazy now?
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"âwhether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up.
So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us."
Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026.
There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasnât sharp enough down the stretch. Iâm sure thatâs true.
But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone.
Another pollsterâone of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday weâd lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were:
1) End the war
2) Focus on cost of living/inflation
3) Put America First
4) Change our relationship to Israel
Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (Sheâs also a great person.)
In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcementâby focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you.
The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night.
If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest.
But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there.
I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, âI told you soâ: youâre right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Letâs take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

I live in South Carolina. Weâre stuck with Annie because Trump and the establishment GOP spent a million dollars the evening before the primary election between Darline Graham and Ralph Norman with a Trump tele-rally where everyone was auto-called, and Darline blatantly lied and said Ralph was going to cut seniors' social security. It cost Ralph the election. Many seniors switched their votes because they believed it. What they did to him was dirtier than anything I've ever seen in politics.
Ralph was the only candidate who beat Annie in the polls. Yet the establishment pushed the weakest candidate and here we are.

We tried to tell yall. The write in Ralph didnât do this. It was the republicans who voted blue that did this. Key to this is theyâre republicans!!!! So if yall start acting like republicans now maybe you win them back next timeâŚ. Just some advice.

Adam, you turned coat this past week to help her. You should have just stayed down and let it go. What you did isnât much wilder than what Fry did. Take that seriously. I mean that. I am sure it was for future purposes, but you blew a hole the size of a MOAB in that ship by campaigning for her. Nothing you are saying here is incorrect, but you no longer have clean hands to the grassroots.

The Democrats didnât win tonight. Voters expressed their anger at Trump. Why? Perhaps renaming large bodies of water, threatening to annex Canada, buying Greenland, replacing the Kennedy Centerâs signage with his name, gilding the White House, tearing down half of it for a gigantic ballroom, imposing tariffs against warnings from all economists liberal to conservative, entering another Middle East war, steamrolling Republican state primaries with his preferred candidates â or fill in the blank. Voters didnât elect him to do any of that. Thatâs the simplest explanation for why.
