JV took care of business in the 4-team Union tournament. 6-0 win in game 1 over the STL Patriots, followed by 8-0 win for the 'ship in game 2...bling goes to both Chadbourne brothers; Max struck out 14 in game 1, John pitched to contact and struck out 4. Each with a 2-hit gem!
JV gets to be the first team to break in the new field! Now all we need are battery's boxes and a foul pole in left....
Great showing in our first three games! Friday's 7-4 win over DeSmet (WP Struckman) started the season on the right note....then, we kept it going with 2 wins over a hard-hitting Lafayette team, 13-8 in game 1 (WP Jung), and 9-4 in game 2 (WP Czerniewski). More to come soon!

Varsity will still try and play.
JV erased a 5-run deficit in the top of the 5th to tie a heavy-hitting Lindbergh team, 7-7, but suffered a walkoff loss on the bottom of the 6th, 8-7, just as time limit ran out. Big key hits by Flamm, Laramie, and Burger fueled the comeback.
Don't forget your turf or molded shoes tomorrow and Friday...both Lindbergh and Webster Groves are all artificial surfaces.
Back in the win column today, getting past a tough St. Charles West bunch, 3-1. This fella (Chase Spùrgeon) made his 2024 JV debut, spinning 3 shutout innings for a big win. Big RBI hits came from Colin Donaldson and Zach Schellert.
JV will practice at The Yard today, 3:15 to 4:45. Drive safe and get there as soon as you can after school.
JV Guys: change of plans for today....I am giving you the day off so I can learn and work with the new scoreboard system for the freshman game (so WE can use it andLIGHT ITT UP for the rest of the year). No practice until Monday.
Today, AJ Flamm takes the bling with a triple and two runs scored in a 5 inning, 12-2 triumph over Westminster on the road. Dylan Dawson allowed just 2 hits through 4 innings. Zach Schellert recorded the hold in the fifth. Back at it at home against Winfield tomorrow at 11am.
Last night Jake Burger went 4 for 4, with 2 singles, a double and a triple to bring home the bling in a 17-6 victory over the Fr. Tolton Trailblazers.
