I’m actually grateful to Trump. His open lawlessness, his obvious ignorance, his unapologetic bigotry, his public bullying, and his trademark vulgarity, have all pulled back the curtain on the reality of the US empire, and the dangers it poses to people across the US and around the world. Even those who did not want to see this under previous administrations are now forced to admit reality. Trump’s ruthlessness is hastening the sinking of the empire. Hopefully, this will compel countries in Europe, the Mideast, and the South to finally begin to build escape routes from US hegemony, lest they go down with the ship.

Extremely powerful that in the last medal ceremony of the Paris Olympics, Sifan Hassan, a Dutch athlete and refugee of Ethiopian origin who won the marathon, wore a hijab. France bans its own athletes from wearing a hijab at Olympic events.

Worth a watch: Pakistan’s ambassador to the UN criticising Canada's amendment to the UNGA resolution on Gaza, solely condemning Hamas.
All Western states voted for the amendment that nevertheless failed to pass.
